Where is the team defence?

Poor decision making killing us!

Out of the players that i saw yesterday the ones i would be considering are JKH, benken and maynard (if he is allowed) We need more mids and pace in the seniors and these might allow some rotations to help

Its been a pretty scrappy game. Port seem to be able to link up well. Lots of turnovers. JKH pretty vocal in the 1/4 time huddle. Relaying tactics to the midfield group. Young mitch king looks a prospect. It is a bit like last night. Port look bigger stronger and well drilled

Oscar is still undeveloped but I think that he has more awareness and skill than his brother. He will take time.

I would like to see weed as the get out kick. He is a good mark one on one but not in a pack. Would be better in the lead up the midfield forward as well. The less body and congestion the better for him

That is the kicker. Most of our team have played less than a season of football and not together. Im not worried after the last 10yrs of crap. We are on the right track. The fact that we are actually COMPETITIVE rather than just saying it. We have had a chance to win in every game. It was going to be a difficult task when maxy went down and it became impossible when spencer went down. Yet we fight on! The ability is there (mostly) the experience and maturity not yet.

Having seen the games against ess and carlton last year we have definitely improved in our talent and game plan but other teams seem to be bigger and stronger than us. especially yesterday when trying to get out of the middle. Sandilands was too hard to stop and was the go to man on many occasions. Stll seem to let other teams get us on the outside way to easy. Apart from garlett there was no forward pressure

Tend to agree with all of this. We have the players but we seem to be physically behind the other teams. Maybe in 2 years we can expect to dominate. It is difficult to watch when we do have most of the players we need to start winning more than we lose

I think the main issue is thst the VFL hasnt started yet. This means that weids may as well play as the others have been injured or not playing in the JLT etc. He will be good when he can outbody his opponent and he usually kicks beautifully. Time to replace him with Hogan this week
