WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Was excellent today. Great vision, thinking in traffic and very quick hands. Can see him dishing out some lightning handballs from a congested midfield in the coming years.

Angus Brayshaw
Improved somewhat as the game went on, but not a great night for him. Is at his best when he hunts the ball, rather than sitting back off the play. Needs to move to a wing/on-ball to make better is of his skillset. Is coming from a long way back due to injuries, but is also being played out of position.

- Time to show Oscar some respect!
Never understood why he was and continues to be judged so harshly; you'd think we'd be overjoyed to have a 6'5" KPD holding down full back from his third season. I really like like him and invested in his stock early. He has the potential to become a much loved player for the MFC if he continues to develop and improve his intensity.- Ollie Wines

I can give you my response now. I never once said he would leave, not once. I said it was ‘possible’ and I even underlined that word for you on page 2 of this thread. It was and still is, and forever shall be POSSIBLE that Ollie Wines could leave Port Adelaide. If they sign him- great, good for them!- Ollie Wines

Carlton also had big doubts about Curnow which is why they took Harry McKay ahead of him. In fact, Curnow was the 6th key position player taken in that draft behind: Weitering Schache Francis Weideman McKay. None of those player have set the world on fire yet. Some will, some won’t. But the fact of the matter is we won’t know for a few more years yet. In addition, it’s probably worth noting who was playing full back last night for Carlton whilst Curnow played full forward. Liam Jones is a KPP who didn’t play a good match until the age of 26. Some guys burst onto the scene... some take time.- Sam Weideman
Has had significant ankle surgery twice already in his career and spent most of this pre-season in rehab. I wouldn’t be wanting to see him in the seniors for the first half of the year as, I’d rather see him developing and building confidence in the VFL. Pederson is definitely ahead of him in the pecking order at this stage at any rate. Weideman need match fitness and a run of good form. Not concerned... yet.- Injury List - Season 2018
I think you'll then see players targeting sore players like Nigel Lappin in the '04 Grand Final, when Akker famously broadcast that he was playing with broken ribs. We often refer to it as the opposition 'testing out' a sore shoulder, ribs or hip, etc. Lots of players carry injuries through the season that the opposition are unaware of. Not sure why clubs would want to tell the opposition about weaknesses their players have that can then be exploited. At the end of the day though, it's a players personal medical information we're talking about here. I don't think fans or broadcasters are in any position to demand more information that what the people involved are willing to give.- Injury List - Season 2018
Wait and see - but if the reports are accurate, then it certainly sounds like McDonald's 'possible hot-spot' is on the minor side of things. If they are indeed going to have him back into full running next week, and that's the conservative approach, then its probably not time for wrist slashing just yet. And the article is right when it states that missing some training and possibly round one 'pales into insignificance weighed up against losing him for much of the year.' Fingers crossed.- Mitch Hannan Signs on until 2020
Gonna be a very interesting R1 22. I have absolutely no idea.- Mitch Hannan Signs on until 2020
Great signing! I know Fritsch is all the rage at the moment (and rightly so) but I think half-forward is Hannan's to lose at this stage.- Salem ready to make his mark
The only one that springs to mind was the Ricky Petterd dropped mark in the goal square with 1 second to go against Collingwood in 2010... coulda-shoulda-woulda.
