  1. Good riddance.
  2. He wrote in German:the Hapsburgs/Austria/Hungary ruled what becamse Czechoslovakia.
  3. You mean the Sassenachs?
  4. He'll marry three Ottoman Muslim refugees who sought sanctuary in Ho Chi Ming City and claim the dole for all of them.
  5. She's dead, you necrophiliac.
  6. As is his wanton. Or, wantoness. But all in all, because he's [redacted], we can yield him a wanton or two. But no more.
  7. Ah, I forgot, this is Demonland. I've just thought about it, being brought up as a Roman (sic) catholic, maybe I should be a Saints supporter. After all, they have as many Germans as the Demons...
  8. Beelzebub, do you really reside in Hades?
  9. Hey man, what would you know about my futile overs? I only bowled them in my later years. At my best I was as fast as Charlie Griffiths.
  10. They in fact lost both wars in big ways, especially the second, Mr Biff, because the idiot Churchill put the Empire on the line and it vanished in a poof of smoke, not cigar smoke either. They lost the First because through their sheer greed and stupidity they made the second inevitable. Serves them right because it was mainly their idiotic notion that they were the world's top dog and it ought to stay that way that caused the First.
  11. That's why I love ya, Mr Biff, despite your tendencies to exaggerate. It's the weird factor. Are you, by chance of Slavonic Origin?
  12. We're just proof that Demonland acknowledges that Australian culture is more than Agriculture.
  13. I was referring more to the pre-WW1 era. Britten especially post dates, here. You could get away with Elgar, Vaughan Williams just. To counter, I could claim Arnold Schonberg as well. He, ironically, was going to 'ensure the dominance of 'German' music for the next 100 years'.
  14. Yes,I'll take Musil as well. And Joseph Roth. My ancestors descended on Banat during Maria Teresa's reign. They came from Alsace and the Black Forest. - hence the Donauschwabs as both those areas are populated by Schwabian Germans. Maria Teresa was a Hapsburger, if you like, that's why I threw in Schubert and Mozart.
  15. By the way, my mother and grandparents were part of 'that other pointless empire, the Austro-Hungarians' as you so kindly put it, and put entirely in a way I've come to expect from people descended from British so-called culture. Some good things came out of Austria-Hungary, not the least Mozart and Schubert. And Bruckner and Mahler. Stefan Zweig, Sigmund Freud,it could also claim Kafka. Britain at that time gave us Lord Balfour, Churchill, Gordon of Khartoum, mainly war mongers, all told. Oh, and Rudyard Kipling and great rhyming couplets about all good things British, and all the while, while inventing concentration camps during the Boer War, and stripping India and China bare, and Malaya of its rubber, well, what else did the British leave behind? Oh yes, railways so they could pilfer more productively.
  16. Croatia at that time was part of Austria...Also, German was Steiner's mother tongue, a bit of a giveaway as to who he felt he belonged to.
  17. Not factually kosher, Mr Biff. His mother was Croation...
  18. Which AC/DC song is this from?
  19. NHL

Isn't NHL a town on the way to and from Adelaide?
  20. You all forget the report that Viney was seen exiting a surgery last week, reportedly about a finger/hand issue. He told reporters it was okay, to forget about it. Any money he went into the game with the issue...
  21. And ........he wore the number 31. So did Ray Groom.
  22. So what. It's history. I started barracking for the demons watching the Grand Final at my Grandmother's house in North Sunshine. We was losing. My 17 year old daughter still asks me why I always back losers? I reckon he'll be a great addition. It gives us so many options - height, marking ability, talent, passion to do well. Go Herr Weidemann.
  23. I watched Jakovitch's first game - against Adelaide in Adelaide on the tellie. The first thing he did was fix up Hughes who had tried to fix him up in the goal square. The cameras cut out just as he got to Hughes. I remember thinking, I like the boy, he taketh no [censored].
  24. Just watched the second highlights package and I'm sold. It's almost as though the first was put together by someone who had an agenda, like 'this guy isn't THAT good' so his club could nab him. ( I know that's not the case!!!)
  25. Just watched his highlight package and like his disposal by hand but have serious doubts about his kicking: hardly saw any kicks hit targets, saw him miss a few goals and saw a lot of high floating long bombs.
