Wallace came with a golden 5 year contract and had a big opportunity to remould Richmond and address some of its deficiencies. He has done neither so far. Ever since Wallace has been there Richmond have had significant deficiencies in leadership, skill and KPPs. In that time Wallace has focussed recruitment of light bodied running players and punted on a couple of hacks from other Clubs (eg Knobel, Graham, Heath Black and Stafford).And he has still got Tivendale!. He traded Fiora for Black. The fact that they are not going to challenge for the flag soon has everything to do with the Coach. Its been his poor game plan that has driven the recruiting, trading and drafting under the wizard Miller than has got him there. Miller is gone and rightly so. The list still has serious basic questions about it. It is key player reliant and does not have the toughness necessary to win big games. Wallace's window is narrowing sharply and another season like this will see him being removed before his five year term is up.

For a reason. White does and cannot play body on body football. It crucifies him up forward. He is not a recognised contested mark except when marking with his natural spring 2nd or 3rd deep on his chest. His lack of physical presence particularly since the introduction of the centre circle has cruelled his effectiveness as a ruckman. Over his 12 year career he has had many (failed) stints up forward and shown neither the physical capacity or the knowledge to play key position forward. As ruckman, he played with great mobility and provide good linkage between half forward and half back not just a kick behind the play. However after 276 games where you have kicked 111 goals 76 behinds would hardly suggest he is dangerous around the goals.

Bollocks. Up to 2005 he was 100% on the field. He aint a goal kicking follower nor is he a forward's bootlace. Freo have had a history of doing dumb trade deals. Normally you trade to improve your list. Freo would just honouring its history with this trade of a real ruck prospect for 200cm athletic type that is neither one thing or the other. Makes no sense. MFC would be hardly forced to deal if that was on the table. I would signed before Freo could blink. However, I would prefer to take Warnock in the PSD.

If Newton's not aiming to be the best then he is wasting everyone's time .....again.

Truth is White has never been a goal kicking follower at anytime during his career. We traded Snake because we had Jolly. Jolly cracked it 2004 when he could not get game time against the then AA ruckman. If we had not have traded him, Jolly would have walked out in the PSD the following year for nothing.

He did say it was a target. If Newton does have any real ambitions for AFL he should be aiming for where Franklin is. There is no reason why Newton cannot aim to play 22 games next year. MFC dont have a forward line set up (post Neitz and Robbo). Newton has burnt a golden opportunity this year to step up. If Newton cannot exceed Miller's efforts this year in 2009 and being available for all games then he is gone. He does not want to burn another chance.

It makes it strange why you were pumping the side's chances against Geelong on Friday. We were on a hiding to nothing on the night and were never going to get near them.

MFC should and will review all aspects of the football department as they did last year. If BB is found to have either failed or his approach does not suit the Club's direction then they should get rid of him. But some of the spurious claims and innuendo against him on this website have been factless, uninformed or ignorant and resemble a hick town witch hunt. I have yet to read an informed knoweledgeable assessment of his performance on this site. I doubt I will. It will all be done behind closed doors as it should.

Salient point Rogue. I thought the team we went into Friday's game with was as fragile as the cobbled together side in the first NAB cap match against the Cats in March 2008.

Agree. Given the weather and playing conditions today it certainly would not have been suitable for a marking forward. I am glad from reports that he has worked hard. Its a nice change. He needs to work very hard over the summer and get it into his head what it takes to make it in the AFL and apply himself.

He has had 4 years with the list and they are in a diabolical state. They have 2 talls in Richo 33 and Simmonds 31. They will both be gone in 2 years. After that they have nothing. Their recruiting and list management is worse than ours. Unless his fortunes turn quickly Wallet will not see out his fifth year. He and Miller have been as thick as thieves at Richmond and Millers sacking should be a fair warning to him.

Source N3000? That would seem high for a player who played his last game before the contract renewal off the bench in the 2005 EF. I would be surprised if its that high. If it is then we should have let him walk to the PSD then.

You did not have to been there to form Nasher's opinion. The fact you go to the game but still hold that naive impression says alot. Its ridiculous to allege that he or any player does not care. Its a pity the game has passed him by. It should be his last AFL game.

Exactly. We went into the game with the most undermanned side we have had this year without one marking forward. We were smashed in the centre from the first bounce and were thumped from there. Its incredible how the basics are missed by some.

It isn't either when you see who is the first choice in the centre week in week out since White got dropped. For good measure despite the brain fades Jamar was excellent quelling Hille's influence. Together with Watson, Hille has been critical to Essendon's recent success. PJ and Jamar have their limitations but PJ aint No 1 ruckman and if he was good enough to be it. If we get Warnock, PJ might make it as a mobile 2nd strong big man that allows a coach to rotate 4 midfields regularly off the bench.

2003 makes 2000 look like a gem. Take out Cooney and its very very ordinary down to Adcock. In fact the lower half has been more rewarding than the top half (ex Cooney).

Our whole team has struggled to do well this year including our rucks and its interesting that all three have not been able to sustain a role in this side this year. In addition, none of the three have exhibited the form in the VFL that suggest they should be selected. Certainly not at present. That is a concern for them. I understand Bailey has said he will be talking with the relevant players this week re their futures (or lack thereof) with MFC. And given where the side is now, what's at stake at season's end and the number of games left in the season I dont see any strong need beyond testimonial reasons to play them. Unless to ensure No 1 draft picks <_< . I think we agree on Grimes on the merit issue. My position is more 2008 unlikely rather than 2009 regardless.

The players may choose the leadership group but I did not think they chose the captain (at least without some guidelines). Last year, I recall Bailey saying it was up to Neitz whether he wanted the captaincy in 2008 at the start of the pre season. Maybe he is sending messages to the playing group now.
