  1. I was there and WCE did not man up did not work hard and perform without any intensity what so ever. You fool yourself to suggest otherwise. It was a horrible game where we were less worse than they were. Against a side as fragile as MFC, to kick only one goal after quarter time deserves all cynicism they get.
  2. Agreed. I dont kow how anyone can lobby for his inclusion on an unsubstantiated performance after a season of poor showings. Anyway, the Tigers dont have any big men of note so if there was ever a game that Meesen could show somethin it is here. But Bob is right on this.
  3. We have a crud culture that can be changed through what you develop through the current and future playing group. If the playing group dont have it then we dont have a culture worth a toss. I have seen many teams with a definite "home" and a crap culture.
  4. It was irrelevant for what he has done at Geelong and WCE. Its irrelevant given the role we would ideally be recruiting him for.
  5. Meesen??? He will also be able to claim that title for another 2 years.
  6. I would hope we would attract Brian Cook or anyone else on the basis of what they can provide the Club. Whether someone has or has not played for MFC previously ahould not be a major consideration of them for the position. After 44 years in the wilderness, I dont see the big reason to favour ex-players into executive positions unless they are the best available for the position.
  7. Technically he got elevated in 2007. I thought the automatic 2 year contract applied to the rookie period not the elevation. If so I would have thought they would have Bode on a 1 year contract.
  8. Trades on this site tend to 95% one sided. Having said there that I am not aware of any interest in Rivers from South Aust. But given he has missed two years of football with OP his market value has crashed and I think that any "value" from a trade may be wishful thinking.
  9. Bode is an opinion. Green was reported in the paper media to be some way from contract finalisation.
  10. Nice try Freak. Fabricate statements that I did not even made. Brad Miller is a work hard footballer that has limitations. He is hardly the worst AFL footballer whom you have villified over the years. Its amazing you bring him up. Your pathetic stand on Miller and his sterling efforts this ear should only advertise your great embarrassment. As for addressing anything, beside big noting yourself you have remained a consistently content free zone that has been to the ongoing amusement of many. Keep punching big hitter. Dont knock yourself out.
  11. Given your party trick for wedging both feet in your football mouth with your big noting self promoting comments you might want to follow that line. There have been a procession of clangers this year Freak that I am starting to marvel at and set a compass by. Well done.
  12. The concern with Storm is that it is not a profitable standalone club and is indeed a (financial) experiment of News. The life (and death) of any NRL Club is and will be subject to the whim of News Corp. NRL is not profitable standalone operation without the guidance and financial resolve of News. In that way it is an artificial environment. NRL is a build on a financially fragile house of cards which on current tracking will have one or more Clubs someday keel over. The lose of gaming revenues will further tighten the screws on the game.
  13. ...I leave that to you DD! Do you think Bode will get a contract extension? Connolly spoke of having 6 to 7 new players at the end of the year. Thought about how that will be achieved?
  14. I dont know what a PJ like resurgence is but PJ is not much a ruckman. He has alot of secondary nice to haves but I am concerned that even the footy department sees him as No 2 behind Jamar. Meesen is contracted for another two years. The way he is going he will need 20 years. Carroll is contracted for 2009. Carroll is next to useless body on body and Warnock, Frawley and Garland are far superior up back. If Bell is struggling to hold a game in bottom team why would a Club give up a pick 20 for a underperforming NQR in a last unaffected draft before GC closes in? As for aggressive trading which MFC would realistically throw up a top 20 pick without undermining our list building efforts? McLean? I would not trade him. Our situation is far different to the Hawks as many of our senior players that should have been traded up 4 years ago have been left to deteriorate to a point they barely grace Sandy these days. I dont see other Club salivating over MOR players in a Club that has bottomed out for the past 2 years. I think we have to be happy with Picks 1, 17, 18 (or 19) plus PSD #1 to deliver us some needed talent onto the list then astutely use picks 35 and 51 to pick a hidden gem. If we can get a good trade away then good but I doubt it.
  15. Then the other Clubs will tell you to [censored] off.
  16. You have not got a clue of the difference between "hard" and "soft". Hard has nothing to do with suspensions or physical acts directed against other players. The defensive pressure in todays game with fitter, stronger players running hard than ever before suggests the game has never been harder and more contested. Its a testament to the physical nature of the game that hard at it players like Brown and Carey had or will have shortened careers through build up of wear and tear on their bodies. In fact some of the so called "hard" players of the past were some of the most gutless individuals you could find particularly those players that poleaxed unsighted opponents behind the play. That settles it then. After such a ringing endorsement lets get Watts.
  17. How about we get 22 skillful and competent players who are tough at the ball and win the contested pill. That is what a tough nut is all about. I do know why we are lauded MFC tough nuts. We dont have them. After Friday, we are as tough as poached egg. I cant think of one side that fears playing MFC beyond boosting their percentage significantly.
  18. He will be delisted at the end of the year.
  19. Carroll was shopped around last year and other Clubs laughed. Carroll will be gracing our list in 2009. Yze is finished as a footballer and we need to look forward not backward. Lets hope with Newton we get better effort. White has injured a knee- interesting...he would have been axed anyway.
  20. As soon as Freak makes a statement put your house on the reverse happening. Win each and every time.
  21. DB has spoken of Bruce and Junior as leaders next year at the Club. Comments like that dont point to him going. Green and MFC are a fair way apart on contract terms. If the contract is unsettled, he could walk to the PSD for nothing and presumably go West or to PA or we have an agreement to trade him. Alternatively we can re contract him for mutually agreed terms. If if did come down to a trade I dont see Green or Bruce pulling a pick higher than #30.
