  1. Warnock on Hale Frawley on Goldstein Garland on Edwards Grimes on Wells Harvey - Bartram when he is forward and Dunn when he is in the middle.
  2. Thanks for the information. My understanding was that the reality set in very early in the process. The meeting with Stynes might have been genuine but as the process went on the inference from his reactions and that of his manager was that his interest was elsehwere. I agree we are better off without him given timing and the cost of getting him. I trust this is a general spray because in no way did I question his integrity. He has every right to eek out every cent he can from the game.He saw better opportunities with Carlton. Fine.
  3. HA HA! Some days it seemed like it. B)
  4. They are being accountable for their man. There 2nd and 3rd efforts are noticeable where in Rd 1 there was none. The fordward line looks similar to me with the exception that the ball carrier is in a better position to use the ball and players like Petterd, Bennell, Green and Sylvia are more confident in their attack on the ball. The forward line still empties out when we are defending but the forwards are far more mobile and able to run to open space in the forward line and get better use of the ball from the ball carrier.
  5. No it isnt. What he is seeking to do has been what he has sought to go from day 1. He is now having the cattle to do it and they now understand what has to be done. It gets back to execution of the plan and having the players with the skill and confidence to do that. That's what has changed.
  6. Agree He was also making similar statements in late last year. Hopefully you are right! MFC are certainly more accountable than Round 1 and it reflects the players efforts and execution of the plan rather than the plan itself. Crikey a coach would not have a gameplan based on dont run, dont chase, dont use the ball well, dont be accountable. Last year we saw glimpses of what Bailey was trying to get the team to do. On the weekend we saw how potent it could be if done properly.
  7. Same here. I thought Daniher gave him significant opportunity to develop of a young defender via the rookie list.
  8. They make tweak the edges, players may return from injury/suspension and players may change their commitment to how they play and execute (eg MFC after Rd 1) but teams do not successfully change their game plans in the course of 1 or 2 weeks let alone 1 or 2 months.
  9. The decision by Judd to go to Carlton was made well before the mock interview process was ever concocted. And at that time, it was not just the fscilities that put MFC on the nose to the outside observer.
  10. That's rubbish. The difference is in the execution by the players not the game plan. Game plans are not invited or changed over a week of football. In many cases they have to be learned over a number of years and not a pre season. The "knowledgeable" people you refer to are incredibly silent at the moment after there squawking about Bailey cant coach and there is no game plan. The kick and hit up the corridor is a strategy common to all game plans but it involves ensuring you can the implementation right to facilitate that. This has always been an important part of what Bailey was trying to do. Its what 15 other clubs try to do more or less successfully.
  11. Absolutely. What a cad and a bounder. Honestly the passionate views of the torch bearing brigade rarely include a modicum of common sense. Seroiusly you should see someone about your fantasy views about Judd. He was always going to Carlton. Some of the carp written about Judd and his "obligations" to his old club that he supported as a child just beggar belief. He is just another player. We all need to take a deep breath and move on.
  12. How did we bring it through the defensive zone? We took it wide then with waves of running players linking by handball opened the play up to create the ability to then attack through the corridor. And that is why Etihad wont be as favourable as the MCG. The irony of using the term "blunt eyes" will no doubt be lost on you JCB. B)
  13. We move it wide to spread the opposition defence then draw it through the corridor forward. Etihad is a smaller ground than the MCG. I would prefer to play them on a bigger ground particularly when they are play 3 talls in Hale, Goldstein and McIntosh. Have another look at the replay we rarely went right down the guts when we brought the the ball from defence.
  14. You're fooling yourself seriously if you think other teams have no idea how we play. Bailey has been working on this plan for 3 years. Each and every side gets tapes each week of other teams. Each side we have played has tried to contend with it. What other teams will find challenging is the emergence of Sculgove, McKenzie and the improvement in Jamar, Frawley and Warnock. I was speaking to an experienced AFL assistant coach of another side who over the past 3 weeks has watch MFC closely live and on TV and he cant get over how good Trengove is at such an early stage. This guy does not give accolades out easily.
  15. Exactly. North will be working hard to corral MFC at every opportunity. Easier to shut a team down at Etihad than MCG.
  16. You should have just said that rather than the other floss you lead with. And the selectors prefer him over Rivers even in his rusty state. Maybe they know something....
  17. Garland is a gem. He looks good now even after more than 12 months out. Definite keeper up back. Martin is worth persevering with rather than Newton and Dunn in the ruck.
  18. Exactly I dont why there is all the whinging. Bennell gets cancelled out by Petterd who pushed Travis out at the other end. Of course not.
  19. When our backline is playing so well, what is the obsession to bring in Rivers at all? Bennell dropped?? You are kidding. No injuries then no changes.
  20. 6 Moloney 5 Frawley 4 Bate 3 Jones 2 Jamar 1 Davey Apologies to other 16 players that I could not fit in.
  21. We stepped up two notcbes tonight from the side that beat Adelaide and Richmond. We got a glimpse of the future tonight! Enjoy it!
  22. Its not the amount. The issue is that its provided them with an illegal advantage that has brought them a premiership illegally. They have been able to pay players on the list that they would not otherwise be able to retain. Its creative an artificial and illegal advantage. Its akin to drugs in sport, gambling and fixing games (Italian soccer and cricket) . Its rotten and the NRL must act to remove it. If the NRL are serious about their code they had to act savagely and swiftly. Any game the Storm has played in is tainted from 2005 to now. The current playing list is over cap. News have appointed Deloittes a forensic lawyer to more accurate ascertain the full extent of the problem. So far we have 2 sets of books and AUD 1.7 million over 4 years. The fact that there are other Clubs that may be at fault in no diminishes the need to act on the Storm heavily. If other Clubs are caught then they should face a penalty consistent with the extent of their crime. Nothing Sydney centric about it. If you think Carlton should be investigated then the use of draft pick penalties and fines have been a complete waste of time because they are a repeat offender. And if they have breached the salary cap over a number of years as second offender what would you do?? Take away their wooden spoons??
  23. A hollow victory at best that pleasures the trivial.
