  1. No change and no plan B. Just footballers taking time to get and implement the same message from the Coach.
  2. Abdsolutely. No shame whatsoever. Goodes in form is outstanding.
  3. You watch the game on TV. The games will be at Etihad and its easy to make the ground look near full with 10,000 people. Its all about the value of TV rights and providing content in prime TV land. I understand why the AFL do it but I would prefer Sat afternoon football. Might have to go out to Casey to see a game on Saturday.
  4. That's why I dont think the Dogs will get to the GF. Johnson is still more serviceable as a player than Aker. And he is their captain and a revered club great. And I dont think any perceived deterioration in those players you mentioned justifies retain a fringe has been that is clearly out for himself and is a destabilising influence at the Club. Pickett played in the 99 and 2004 flags but by 2007 he was finished and a shadow of his former self and no on field value. Aker is in the same boat.
  5. 5-6 years ago I would have agreed. But not now. Aker's on field star has faded greatly and he is cashing in for all its worth in the media. And I doubt the Dogs will get that far anyway.
  6. He is 33 and has struggled to get over a soft tissue injury. Given his age and the difficulty of the injury lasting 5 weeks why would you rush him back into the fray of AFL?? Is this his first ever game in the VFL? I seem to recall he may have played one other some years ago.
  7. From a club culture perspective he is a sore and a problem. Got it.
  8. His loose cannon behaviour is similar to ex Australian spinner and loud mouth Greg Matthews who without telling players on the 1991 Windies tour that a mate who he caught up with and invited to team functions was actually ghost writing a behind the scenes book on the tour. None of the 1991 tourists were at all enamored and within 2 years had his first class career finished and with a number of important relationships in the cricket world irreparably damaged.
  9. More gratefully neither are you. But I would gladly offer your nous and expertise to anyone of the other 15 clubs. He wont be in MFC colours next year. No one is that stupid..
  10. Australia 88 & 136/2 (41.0 ov) Pakistan 258 Australia trail by 34 runs with 8 wickets remaining Stumps - Day 2 I reckon Pakistan can still conjure a loss in this Test. It will be credit to their professsionalism and their bookmaker. Just remarkable. What a sham of a outfit they are.
  11. Have a look at this - it was posted on a Richmond fansite by a guy named Damian Street on July 30 2004 - before Wallace's appointment at Richmond was confirmed. We have a prophet in our midst: I really don't like Wallace. Some are saying he is allready signed to Richmond and is waiting to see what is happening with the board. Wallace inherited a team which had been in the finals in 94 and 95. 96 was the Year of the Dogs where he replaced Joyce. He then lead them to 3rd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 10th, 13th. They got worse and worse every year. His winning record 54% is EXACTLY the same as Peter Schwabs' going into this season. He progessively dismantled the team. As his ball-winners (Libba, Dimma, Romero, Powell) left he didn't replace them. He kept getting more and more light-bodied recievers, including trading Montogmery for Eagleton. Why would you go for Eagleton when you allready have Smith, Johnson, Cameron etc.? He has left the Dogs in a terrible position with only Scott West to win the hard ball. After the 2 preliminary final losses the writing was on the wall that his team of wingmen could not win finals matches but he went more and more down that path. The fact that Roos was able to takeover from Eade and get the Swans back in the finals is a complement to the good shape Eade left the club in. The fact that Rohde has no midfield and no key position players and can't get the Dogs to even sneak 10 wins a year is testament to the condition that Wallace left the Dogs in. His record with key position players was terrible. His run-run-run, chip it around, carry the ball, share the ball, flood flood flood game plan made playing forward impossable. He would not know a key position player (or forward) if one jumped up and bit him. This is the guy who recruited Simon Minton-Connell, James Cook, Steven Pitt, Paul Hudson, Kinglsey Hunter, Trent Bartlett, Daniel Bandy, Aaron James, Nicky Winmar and Andrew Wills. His idea of key defenders is the likes of Simon Cox, Ben Harrison and Craig Ellis ... mixed in with Steve Kretiuk and Mathew Croft. If he hadn't been 'given' Darcy, Wynd and Grant he'd have been stuffed. Other than the players he inherited Darcy, West, Grant, Johnson, Smith, Wynd and Cameron it is difficult to think of anyone other than Brown who has really done much. Robert Murphy offers a bit but he only played 9 games under Wallace. He has almost no track record of developing players. A terrible record with forwards. No idea of what a key position player is. He is about the worst player trader there has ever been. He insists on having complete say on list management and upsets his players. When he quit the Dogs, the players said they wanted him out and they didn't want him to coach the last game on the year. Terry Wallace self-publicist and media darling? Certainly. Terry Wallace coaching innovater with a clear plan? Yep. Terry Wallace good coach who could help a club if given a 2nd chance? Perhaps. Terry Wallace master-coach who can turn a club around, get the best out of under-performing players and solve a teams problems? Give me a break.
  12. No doubt you dont rate those stats. They tell a story you dont like. The conversation rates are measured over there respective careers. Jamar 8 years, PJ six years. The evidence suggest that Jamar has been consistently accurate over his career. http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/players/M/Mark_Jamar.html Your issue of flubbing is nitpicking to say the least and irrelevant to the point that Jamar has been consistently accurate over the course of his career. Garbage. Jamar has played second fiddle to Jeff White for so long early in his career that he got no game time at all. The only game where Jamar has had considerable game time forward is Carlton last year where he kicked 5. PJ has had number of opportunities and has shown no capacity for the role as he cant play body on body and is a poor mark. No he is poor up back. Panics under pressure and releases the ball on poor options. Both Fraser and McIntosh showed up how unaccountable is his last year by drifting into the F50 and marking and scoring totally unopposed. There is good reason he is never down back. At best, his game was serviceable and what you should expect week in week out as a minimum not once every 70 games or so. I just did not think you would be crowing on one mediocre game given all the evidence before you (that you work so hard to avoid). My views on PJ have not changed since last 2007. They have been confirmed. He should be gone at year end. The only thing that might save him is the paucity of other 2nd string ruck options. And thats not a testament to the player.
  13. Agree Robbie F. Moloney could be a late withdrawal this week??? No inside info just that he was carrying a niggle this week. Maric might come in. Warnock and Wonna to miss.
  14. Agree. But they sought to trade to give them that window. Fitness of key players (B & B ) and others have cruelled their opportunities. Like any flag aspirant, you need everything to go to plan. Some key pieces in the puzzle have not worked for Brisbane this year.
  15. Jamar could at least take one or two pack marks. Records reflect Jamar to be a very good kick for goal. http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/players/M/Mark_Jamar.html
  16. How long will it take to get another Brown or Black? There is a good argument to try an cash in on the final years of these two great players. Brennan would get you no more than a 3rd rounder. Everyone knows he's flaky inconsistent and diabolical under pressure. Although it was not Voss's decision, trading for TJ with the pick that got Grimes has been an unmitigated disaster.
  17. He cant get a game on form with the WB.This year in 9 games with WB he has kicked 2 goals 7 behinds from a fwd role and has topped 20 or more possessions in a game (hardly difficult in this game) only twice. His tanks are on empty. His media exposure to both Brisbane in his final years and to WB has been a disaster for both Clubs. Why would MFC want him for that? I am not sure what value any of his experience is when he does not perform at AFL level, we arent playing finals for some time and has absolutely no leadership credentials at two clubs now. He cant and doesnt play midfield for WB anymore and has not for some years. And recruiting for depth?? It just gets worse. Keep learning.
  18. But even if you held that view why would you bother picking him for 2011 when at 34,he is a player in deep decline on performance, has no leadership values and has more off field baggage than Ben Cousins? And if we are developing a side to challenge for 2013-2014 why would you do it? He has no role. Beggars basic common sense.
  19. None of those issues have any relevance why we should be recruiting a 33 yo past it player who is a cultural cancer. On your form to date you should be the last person alleging ignorance on any other poster.
  20. No he wouldn't. Why would you bother with a 33yo that has no part of our future? His position would deprive another player with a future being selected. And then there is all the off field baggage.... Amazing.
  21. 1. Its no good if there are no forwards there either! And its no good if the 50 metre penalty brings you in scoring distance. 2. I would have thought that if the actions amount to unreasonable time delays (like caused by a kick) then its 50. I will keep an eye out for it. Good work on the tattoos.
  22. It may well.... Aker vintage 2010 is a shadow of vintage 2003. I dont. Finished and of no value to MFC whatsoever.
  23. Ok its moot at this point that they own the copyright to the TM. But they would bankroll any contingent legal action. I doubt if it will get to that.
  24. I wouldn't. Any track record is seven years old and Aker has struggled to make an impact at AFL and VFL. He is not a worthy replace for Johnson or Higgins. I rather go into the finals without any idiots destroying club culture.
