  1. Some really ordinary conclusions drawn on this thread by posters who should know better. She has only alleged "sexual" relations with Nixon. I dont think its at all proven. She may be 17 and vulnerable but she has proven herself vexatious and vindictive. She is on a one way downward spiral and she is set on taking any person who crosses her path down with her. She is either poorly advised/manipulated or not being advised on her. At worst Nixon has been guilty of criminal behaviour. At best he is guilty of gobsmacking stupidity with no nous or thought for the compromised position he was getting himself into. At best he should have known better and seen the lights flashing. It was clear from past behaviour that any contact/negotiations with this girl should have been on arms length and transparent arrangements. IMO, Nixon who has negotiated brashly and arrogantly in the past many a hard struck player contract, has tried to play "GOD" in trying to settle this issue with the girl on behalf of the Saints and Riewoldt. His ego unchecked and using his usual low key behind the scenes tactics, Nixon has compounded the problem (for his clients) and raised serious issues about his behaviour and judgement. He has dug himself a hole which he cant climb out of. I just cant believe he would have engaged in anything but trying to settle this long running issue with the Saints and Reiwoldt and the girl. If indeed her allegations are correct and proven, the actions of R Nixon are breathtaking. He will have not only further damaged her life but destroyed his personal and professional life and badly hurt all those close to him. No winners at all here.
  2. Even if he did not have any alleged sexual relationship with the girl, Nixon has displayed, once again, an appalling lack of judgement, wisdom and tact. 1. Having private contact with a spiteful and volatile individual who has already compromised your client. Especially after making public comments about her vulnerability. 2. Attending her hotel room at any time. (An absolute no go zone). He should have met her in the hotel lobby or other public areas in normal business hours. The Herald Sun witnessed Mr Nixon leaving the girl's hotel on Tuesday at about 7.15am. Ugh! 3. Supplying alcohol to a minor. Together with point 2 on Valentine Days its a terrible look. Was Nixon driving to and from the hotel? Were there any trams around? Costello was wrong. He should have included player/managers as well.
  3. That means another 5 games from Col and 12 games from Jurrah will give 3 more wins then I will buy that! However it might require something more.
  4. At the 2010 Bluey these were the vote getters... Green 295 Frawley 277 Jamar 231 Davey 194 Sylvia 170 Either we want Frawley and Jamar to drop out of the top 3 to make the finals??? Green played 22 games, Davey played 20 and Sylvia played 15. I am not sure how much quantum improvement an extra 5 games from Col would give us. Its a plus but how much?? Having Jurrah play a full season and performing will be important. However Green, Jamar, Davey and Sylvia are doing what you would want them to do. We need them to repeat that performance in 2011. What you see is what you get. Leadership, solid good mature football. Only Sylvia has the unfilled potential to be an out and out game breaker. He has teased but has not delivered yet. Davey will burst in spasms and do it with class. We need it to happen more often The big area of improvement is giong to come from our younger players who mature and stand up to perform at the highest. When they start following Chippa's lead on perform and they challenge for Top 5 in the Bluey then we are a finals prospect
  5. GWS having recruited an ex Demonland leader in Yze Magic to mentor his young posters was clearly an attraction that finally coaxed ADC to go. Yes well done rpfc. Game set and match.
  6. Getting upset over talkback on SEN?? Oh dear. SEN talkback is so low brow that it makes the Coodabeens parodies blush. Sweating the small stuff guys.
  7. Sounds like MFC 3 years ago.... Logic that would shame the Wiggles. Well said. Not that quick. The Tigers have a broad and dedicated supporter base out of the 1960s and 1970s success and strong links to the Richmond community.
  8. All AFL clubs in MEL bar Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn and Carlton are financial battlers. Lets not split hairs. What Richmond is doing is essentially the same as MFC did 2 years. Reduce debt with the promise of focus on a premiership. Richmond may not have anyone with charisma of Stynes, but they do have more supporters than MFC. And its not the first time they have done a tin rattle in the past 15 years.
  9. Its a tacky dump with little endearing it but the fact MFC owns it. The name is not the issue. There are better alternatives for locals and others to go than there. The only value is the land and the pokies licence
  10. Oh dear. MFCSS at its worst. They are not facts. They are just regurguitated rumours in absence of the truth willing sucked up people who should know better but dont act that way. Agree maurie. However, it may happen sooner than the end of the year. We will have to wait and see.
  11. ...as opposed to believing rumour, speculation and media hysteria.
  12. Agree. The outpouring of MFCSS and hysteria is in plague proportion and serving no useful purpose. Thankfully the Club has cooler and wiser heads to deal with the issue than the "we're doomed" brigade.
  13. Best post of the thread Bob by a mile. There werent too many in the running though.
  14. And Krejza isn't a game by game proposition? Krejza got lucky in India in a dead rubber slogfest. He still leaked 5 runs per over. And prior to that he got spanked in some early season jollies in India. No track form there Both are forced gambles due to injuries to preferred players. Australia is limited to taking an underwhelming side on this WC.
  15. The same argument could made about Shaun Tait. Krejza has no form to speak of and is there because of mounting injuries. From the ODI and 20/20 competitions in India, wickcets have have been dead to placid.
  16. Really, Clubs never approached and spoke to a contracted player prior to GC and GWS. I dont think so. Then take a breath Iva and relax. Funny the poster who did use "press conference" first agreed.
  17. No probs Beetle. I always take KB and SEN with a huge grain of salt. Thanks for having your radar up. If anything was to be said about Scully(if anything does need to said at all) I cant see why it would not come from Schwab or Stynes,
  18. Possibly. There may not be any info at all. But when there is something as "big" as Scully I think the AFL would be keeping close watch on developments and be aware behind the scenes where things are at? Think about it. As Club Presidents they get access to AFL staff, information in the fulfillment of their functions that dont get made public or maybe sanitised for the media.
  19. Only you are claiming that Iva. And I think its a touch of hysteria to claim a "Press Conference" when a probing SEN reporter jumps Bailey on the Scully rumour. Bailey as expected says nothing.
  20. Basically sums up the whole thread. Another probing SEN interview.
  21. You are kidding aren't you? As Club President he would get access to AFL information an arms length journalist not involved in an AFL role would cry for.
  22. The way the injuries are mounting for Australia, I would back our best injured XI over our currently fittest XI atm. Its got so bad Krejza has been selected even though he has not featured in 1st class cricket. At least he is a consistent. He bleeds at about 6 an over in Test cricket and ODIs even in the backyard friendly against an England 2nd XI in Perth. Krejza is a bigger punt (and a forced one) than Tait. Australia will have to rely on other major sides imploding in the WC to make the semi finals.
  23. The issue is not the beauty but the effectiveness. If you care to look at the history of football boots, the hard nose needed on the end of your White Diamond football boot was replaced by the soft mould shoe more designed with different kicking and greater running. Now why was that?? Hmmm.
  24. I think it pays to not believe every thing you read on the internet. I never saw Hughes or any other MFC player kick a drop kick. Given the slippers they wear as football boots since the 1970s I doubt whether many players would risk the toe injuries.
