  1. Sage comments Snoop. I am not sure why all the accolades over C graders like Moloney and Jones.
  2. Some sensible thought amongst the torch bearers.
  3. Epitome of fickle. After stating a love fest for Bailey last season, its laughable how the worm has turned. Exactly. After reading the Hun article it a case of trooping out the bleedin bovious which is the the Hun's trait of analytical and revealing reporting.
  4. Its amazing what people actually expect to hear in a presser after a bad loss. Its not a good position to be in and if there are any criticisms/hand wringing or lynching they should be handled behind closed doors and the right people held accountable. The last thing I would want Stynes or any other official start bagging players or mea culping in a presser. Stynes did the best he could in an awful situation.
  5. Stynes said on radio he speaks with the Coach and FD every week.
  6. A rare ray of sense amongst so much dross.
  7. Did Bailey win us tatts did he?? Where did all the money suddenly come from??? We have a serious shortage of mature hard bodied quality midfielders. We have Scully, Trengove, McKenzie and Gysberts who are definite quality but are just kids. You are seriously dreaming. Its about the cattle in the midfield. This has to be one of your greatest codswallop pieces WYL. Can you show me the weblink where it states the Club has never demanded that he produce good football reguarly? And Davey even at his best would never be in Judd's orbit. Not even close. As Matthews, Richardson and King agreed on 3aw today that Judd is a once in a generation footballer. Davey wont even get close. Fair assessment and we need to get gametime and experience into that talent.
  8. And on today's performance against an undermanned opposition, Maric hardly impressed. Wonna has more upside than Maric for mine.
  9. Must have watched a different game today..... Petterd will probably replace Dunn but he was not convincing against ordinary opposition. When we need leadership for the Adelaide we drop our Captain after 5 games. Great idea. Common sense where its needed.
  10. Agree. Words are cheap...unless backed by action. He is not on his Pat Malone there. Every senior player should be on notice.
  11. This is about as accurate as your understanding of debt. I would keep you well away from the finances. Like giving a pyromaniac a lit match near petrol. Ugh...The player that disappears in big games..I think we found out pretty well what was in his blood 2 weeks ago. Goes missing in the heat and a definite C grader who's position should be under scrutiny when Scully and McKenzie return. Another of the leadership group that aint one on the field.
  12. Pretty good summary Deelicious. Frankston were a really undermanned relatively short side with a lack of leg fitness. Casey with the MFC contingent should have blown them away after qtr time. They didn't. The game was a relatively poor standard with critical errors by both sides. On paper Bate looks like he really dominant but against a classless short backline he did what he had to do without being dominant. Maric and Jetta flashed in and out of the player but did not really hurt the opposition with the pill. They gather possessions without much pressure at ground level. Spencer and Gawn were too big for the Frankston rucks. I like the look of Cook as a player and I think he will develop well for MFC. McDonald did little and Blease was invisible. Blease has a long way to go. Newton really good at VFL level but just has too many brain fades. Fevola...as fat as Plugger in a Toyota commercial with absolutely zero fitness and too much fat. He is not up to VFL 1st standard. He would not have the basic fitness for Ammos club XVIII.
  13. Thanks Pringle for the reports. look forward to your views on the firsts game.
  14. Who was the right choice then?
  15. Sox, If you had a look at the 2003 draft, its a wasteland. Look for picks 3 and 5 with Sylvia and McLean we got Sylvia with possible upside to be special and 100 games and Mclean we got 90 games and pick 12 (Gysberts). In a poor draft we did not do that badly but we did not get the star we craved.
  16. Great pick up their Rock n roll. I will admit to having called him "Donuts" a couple of times early in his career. But he did have the attributes of a potentially good big man. Contested marking and use of his body in ruck contests were always there. He is dangerous up forward and he has a great goalkicking accuracy over his career(43.17) over 70%. http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/accuracy.html Note: Aussie and LJ look very good on the stats for accuracy. But from early 2007 onward, I could not see how many people got so excited about PJ. Greatest tease of big man ever. Anyway, maintain the standard Jamar. Well done.
  17. I dont think they can afford to do that given they have spent $475million on the rights to those. They will need to sell 1 or 2 games to either 10 or 9.
  18. He was a 5th round pick in the weakest draft on record and should not be relevant in the assessment of his value now. The demands of the game have changed so much since 2003 that players that lack pace are in real trouble. Brock's issue is that when he does accumulate possessions he does not hurt you by hand or foot. He is a meat and potatoes midfielder and we have enough of them. It was very magnanimous of Brock to donate the $10k to the club. Remember we still have Scully, McKenzie to come back and when they do McLean would not get a look in and one or two incumbent should be nervous. The day we recruit for depth is the day MFC can forget about on field success.
  19. Only if you pay for it with Foxtel. Its been a slow creep over the years and Foxtel are slowly but surely putting a strangle hold on free to air football. Sad but inevitable. I dont have Foxtel at home and I am not intending to have it installed. I will have to go to the pub more and get mates to tape games for me.
  20. He is 25, injury prone and this is his 7th year of AFL. Its nearly a year since he played AFL football. And the game just keeps getting quicker.... He needs to make things happen this year.
  21. What has he been aiming at for the past 5 years and missing? Port Melb vs Northern Bullants must have been a cracker of a contest between the two past gems of the MFC midfield, McLean and Valenti. And the answer...definitely not.
  22. I think nearly everytime we have played in front of Maclure and 774 we have put in a shocker. MFC have some form for poor performances. Calls it as he sees it. He is more interesting a commentator than most.
  23. As pointed out by other posters it should be up to you to prove your theory right not others to disprove it. Its not an issue of could happen but whether it did happen. I did use the word "plausible". And if you think Moloney had been out for just a drink after the Lions game then I can understand you are convinced by your Watts theory. And for initial facts to my story, see if you can get over your anger at the Club and listen to the Press conference on Moloney. I am glad Beamer has moved on from this, as will I. I trust I dont have to wait for a double page Hun spread before Jack plays his next game.
  24. I note you cannot bear to comment on the embarrsssment Moloney caused himself, the Club and its sponsors. And as you recognise that given the seriousness of the incident he lost the VC. Given the seriousness of the allegations and the severity of the punishment, this was always going to require a public mea culpa by Moloney in the company of the senior clu official otherwise the media would not have bought any spin Schwab and oc put on the event and would have teed off further on the McGuire disclosures. I dont think you realise how much media management of the whole affair took place. The Club addressed it and took the steam out of the matter in less than 24 hours. But the Moloney issue had nothing to do with the Watts situation. And as such there is little substance to your implausible theory that his selection was due to media management.
