  1. Carp. And if you dont like it get a blog. You could have asked about question Cale Morton against Dustin Martin without pointed reference to the respective coaches. Deep questions and fair discussion is a worthy objective for you WYL. Good luck in your journey
  2. It was done in the context of another slag at the coaching. Dont be so daft.
  3. Definitely the case. The club wouldn't dare tell players the truth. Sorry for being Captain Obvious before. I was probably being subtle. Its a worry you need to ask that question. It might surprise you that Martin and Morton are not the same type of players even though both have their surnames starting with an M and ending in an N. Martin is a gem of a footballer and was clicked to go from day 1 regardless of who was coaching him. He was not far behind Scully and Trengove. Martin has also joined a midfield where there is some quantum class with Deledio, Foley, Cotchin. MFC dont have that there In respect of Morton he might be looking like he is playing his first game given he has had a severely interrupted pre season. He was poor on Sunday like a number of others. But when the rest of your midfield is getting slayed outside players like Morton are going to struggle. But well done on your 1000th post bagging the Coach.
  4. I didnt realise that reading between the lines was so hard for some. My apologies.
  5. Hardwick inherited a better list than Bailey did. Richmond had already started their rebuild prior to him joining. I guess you would have been pumping Voss's and Scott's efforts last year at the Lions and North.
  6. And what would you expect on a public website??? Really. What gets stated on the website should be different that what is said honestly behind closed doors or at a 1 to 1. Choko has a reasonable intuitive stab at what it means.
  7. Greg Williams anyone? Paul Kelly?
  8. A good grasp of the facts of the proposal would go a long way here rather than cherry pick to suit your opinion.
  9. Thats not been whats missing from our leaders at all. Glad Tappy's playing
  10. Fair Bump. Judd may poke at the ball at times when kicking but he is a generational superstar. His ability to impact and influence a game off his own effort is outstanding. Thats not to take anything away from Ablett who is one of the best of his era. But Judd is like having 4 extra players when he is on. And he is the first tagged by a mile at CFC. At Geelong, Ablett is the best of great midfield of Bartel, Chapman, Corey and Selwood. By many posters assessment, Judd was a shadow of his past WCE era in 2010 and still won the B'low. How good is he?
  11. FFS it 45 years ago. The people involved are longer there. Many have fallen off the perch. And for anyone below 50 WGAF? If they are going to do that can they also cover the move to decimal currency which happened around the same time? I dont think that was explained well at all to members and supporters of MFC. A quick synopsis on the Vietnam war would also be appropriate. I would stick with trying to pot the current coach. Save your torch for the lynchings that matter. B)
  12. Why do you bother?? Really Mother's Day is a killer for crowds. 18k for me. Dont knock your passion. How many banners have you done when we have been in better times? Each to his own. Remember to smile when the camera swings on you. Good to see you will be there nevertheless.
  13. I wasnt but I am sure you were or at least a hot shot. B)
  14. Funniest post of the year nomination.
  15. You should be. The Board are the people who are ultimately responsible and should be the basis to be able to relay supporters hurt and anger. I am sure they would be feeling it. I am not sure why those that attack the Club through often fruitless means have any more emotional investment than other supporters who dont. Its a fallacy.
  16. They should also send them a little chocolate in read and blue foil to ease the pain. Its an outrage.
  17. Aargh. Too many Jettas. Point taken on Leroy ...its Lewis. Lewis Jetta was overlooked by all clubs in the 2007. He like a number of possibles that miss out is on very clubs radar. He went and played county football in 2008. I dont think he was registered for either draft in 2008. He did not come to prominence as a footballer until 2009 with Swan Districts. You need to realise that MFC have one of the smallest football departments in the AFL. The Big footy departments did not track Jetta either. Big mistake...hardly. Too much hindsight and hair splitting.
  18. Board positions are ex-gratia position held by people who have been supporters all their life. They often are financial supporters of the Club well above the call of duty. I am stunned that people would look at someone like Stynes and then consider some past board members like Peter Szental are not passionate about their Club. These are the people that are responsible for all aspects of the Club. Many are ex footballers with a long pedigree. They are also supported by people like Chris Connolly and Todd Viney (who is comfortable for his son to come to the Club). And they are lacking what?? I can totally understand how upset people are about the loss. Its been hard to take. But I have not had to resort to the mocking of the Club at a low point. Its a case of not what the Coach does (in 28 different threads so far) and the players put in but what the borader stakeholders in the Clud do. And some of the reactions have all the marks of self saucing lynch mob that has more interest in venting their spleens rather than addressing the issue. Everyone knows the heats on the Coach and the FD. Its a naive assumption undertaken by the lynch mob as a shallow justification of the "roights". I also understand that you dont want to go to a Club function after this effort. i would be more concerned if you were to go with a painted billboard that is negative or antagonist of the current admin thinking that this will improve things.
  19. Do you really think the Club does not realise how unsatisfactory the performance has been???? How self defeating is it for supporters not to turn up?
  20. Are you interested in getting your 5 seconds of cheap fame or are you going there to actually support the side? I dont care how sharp or witty you might think your sheet will be. Its an hardly an attempt to support the Club. And if you think its positive incentive for the Club then its a pity. The Club and the players are down and its easy to get on forums, facebook and email to be critical of the Club. Its a lot harder to stick fat with the Club. This is a challenge for the players and the supporters. If the Club dont turn it around in the coming week then players and officials should and will be held accountable. But it should be through the parties responsible for doing this. Not the cheap knee jerk lynch mob mentality which has dominated this Forum for the past week.
  21. Are you saying that the FD have transgressed their duties like Beamer?? Oh dear. I dont think Beamer's situation is a goodp roxy at for the football department I am not sure what ritual will satisfy "us members and supporters". A flogging, a hanging. The best thing for the FD to do is rectify the problems as best they can and I am sure the Board/Stynes is encouraging them to do that. The last thing I want Stynes to do is to put on some cheap piece of grandstanding that has supporters coffing "That will show'em". From what Stynes was dealing with in the media, I think he realises this. The MFC Board need show strength of commitment and smarts beyond the bulk of the D'land posting since last Thursday.
  22. And often misused on this forum. Clearly 16 clubs had misgivings or preferred others. FCS he was taken pick 5 in the PSD. And "blue collar" is not the most emphatic recommendation of a player. Rockliff is a great story of a player that misses early but works his butt off to succeed. Its early days in assessment of recruits but he has made the right steps. Bennell and Jetta had been viewed by Club scouts and recruiters a number of times... They were taken at picks 35 and 51 respectively where you really start selecting in the exact science of potential but with flaws. Its exactly the samesceience that ranks Rockliff. Nevilles' mother?? Lewis might have been a better player but he was taken as pick 18 by Sydney with their first round pick. We took Frawley with pick 12 in that draft. Should we have taken Leroy Jetta instead?? Agree. I dont think Neville will make it but thats why he got taken at pick 51. Have a look at the draft list from that year and tell me which of the player past pick 30 have made it or will make it?
  23. Its a pity that the emailers and phone callers will not have regard for your last sentence. And its insulting to suggest that the club does not have "any balls" to do something. I would trust the Club uses its time more effectively to accurately addressing the problem than listen to emotive wingnuts address their own issues. I can bet you the supporters who paid the debt are necessarily the ones who use the situation to direct their bile at the MFC in tough times. So few carrying so many.
  24. Yes the Board must be held accountable for this. Look it was in hindsight a poor decision. It was the case of the Club's golden run ending. Top players of the era had retired. Barassi had chosen greener pastures. And the drivers of the game were starting to change away from MFC. However, its a wonderful tool for supporters to use to get on their soapbox to wax lyrically about the impact 45 years on. When the truth is that it just wallows in the mindset of MFCSS.
