  1. You have interpreted incorrectly. Its actually a dose of realism. Its clear many dont understand the implications nor the impact of having such a young list (particular supported by an underperforming leadership).
  2. Jan-Mar is cyclone/wet season in Darwin. Maybe there also thinking of player welfare by not doing it...Hmmm
  3. Where would you push it? All you do is create expectations above and beyond the reality of the situation. Its a young team and there maturing slowly but well. Every game they get together is important.
  4. Agree entirely. Notwithstanding he will be back for the finals, he is still missing alot of football even though he can train. Its clear that Shaw learned absolutely nothing from his escapade with Didak. Amazing. Maxwell was plain dumb for a Captain to mention team plans. Incredible.Embarrassing. Rightly fined. Eddie would be furious. They need to keep a lid on things for another 10 to 12 weeks. They are in the box seat for the flag. They dont want to blow it. First Malthouse, now this what next. Pendlebury injured....
  5. Leadership group this year on and off the field. The extent to which a number of D'land poster dont understand the implications of having such a young list of footballers.
  6. No. Many of the blowouts have been due to factors of differences in talent that have ben evident throughout the game. The introduction of GC would have helped also. In addition, multiple injuries have at various times crippled MFC, Freo and North this year. As for T, i reckon Swans games c 2005 were awful negative affairs up until the final 5 minutes.
  7. ...and these have occurred as a consequence of the rule change with introduction of the sub.
  8. Or any of the women either person was seeing while alive.
  9. Based on what? You have not put up anything of substance on this matter. Just pedalled other people's rumours and innuendo and unsuccessfully dodged other posters accusations about Scully being a liar. Not a good performance.
  10. But the money still helps. MFC should still play finals football with or without Scully. Hell, we have had Scully missing alot of the year and we are still in the hunt for finals. Trengove still can achieve his objectives without Scully. There could be more issues if Scully stayed was paid $$$$$ and Trengove was only offered $$$. Money may not be the be all but it should rankle if you are performing at or better than the level of another player and are getting less money. I am sure Trengove values respect. I used to McLean and Sylvia as an example that WYL's nexus of Scully and Trengove has little water just because they were in the same draft and got there jumper at the same time. Every premiership team has "blood brothers". It just isnt restricted to being drafted in the same year. MFC will still have an elite brigade of players even without Scully. Nice to keep him but it does not make the rest suddenly ordinary if he goes. And if Trengove wants to leave MFC to find an "elite young brigade", why would he choose Adelaide? They are not elite now and because of the drafting situation with GWS and GC wont be elite for some time. Hmmmm.
  11. Not necessarily and you have not provided any plausible substantiation to that view. Exactly. But WYL is claim that there is this mysterious bond based on no substance that suggests that if Scully leaves then Trengove will be more likely to go to Adelaide... Their respective dispositions may be mutually exclusive. What we DO know is that if Scully leaves then MFC will have more salary cap to use to retain other players like Trengove. If it is just a financial decision then Adelaide will have more difficult time getting Trengove from MFC if Scully is not there.
  12. Just like there is also a bond between McLean and Sylvia as they got their jumpers at the same time. So when McLean got the offer from Carlton then Sylvia would also leave. But wait... he didn't. Maybe the blood brothers theory is just rubbish. I would have thought Adelaide would be interested in Trengove regardless what Scully does. And if Scully were to stay at MFC then there is less MFC salary cap to stretch to Trengove. So Adelaide would have more scope to put a more attractive $$$ bid to Trengove. If Scully were to go then MFC would be fighting like hell to retain Trengove. Damn logic.
  13. Lets hope he does not "tear a bit" in the 4th quarter. I dont think they will play him. Pure fantasy. I am not sure there will be a large number of indigenous players playing. Only Jurrah and possibly Bennell to be in the 22.
  14. A small crumbing forward is definitely a need for MFC in 2012
  15. There were many posters on here that said when Brad Scott had his honeymoon period with North and Hird his stint with Essendon, it was clearly "obvious" that they were doing things right and MFC and Bailey were doing things clearly wrong. Where are they those sages now? At least this should deflate the fantasy that all you need to do is bring back a golden boy and suddenly everything is alright. That balloon has popped but probably wont kill the "lets bring back Gary Lyon as coach" calls. It all get down to the calibre of the list. Essendon has nearly the same list under Hird that it had under Knights (exception of Heppell). This outcome is not a surprise. There are no easy quick fixes in AFL to correct a teams deficiencies.
  16. You must have cried when the club sacked Nathan Carroll?
  17. Damn the facts Bob. You are right. This is undoubtedly the case. I thought he was very good on the weekend and will get better.
  18. Gee if you listen to all the experts on D'land they howled for years that MFC were stuffing Dunn as a forward because they tried to make him a midfielder tagger. Every time I look at Howe alongside Green, Jurrah, Watts, Petterd and perform like he does I struggle to see how Dunn/Bate get a look in outside of injury.
  19. Vickery = Garland Riewoldt = Frawley Martin = McKenzie Cotchin = Scully Miller = Rivers Foley = Jones Jackson = Moloney Deledio = Trengove Nahas = Bartram
  20. There were two other Clubs who were going to snare Barlow if Freo didn't. From what I have seen Wall is not in that class but a good handy VFL player.
  21. While I dont wish the current health disposition of Hinch on anyone, I cant think of a media commentator over the 30 years who has been more malicious and self absorbed in the promotion of any topic he has sought to rally. A regular object of parody and forgettable clown in the commercial radio circus. A narcisstic and malevolent character who MFC are better off having no involvement with. Its ironic he saw Jim Stynes run over the mark at the MCG. It ably demonstrates his lousy grasp of facts and further questions his integrity. And FWIW, I had heard the Hinch cashed out of MFC long before the old changing room party. Good to see he uses occassions and people once more to pump his own tyres
  22. I wasn't going to, but your post was such a poor cheap shot at a dedicated player down on form this year. I am sure you were itching to write this last year. If Green has supporters like you then he has no need for enemies. And I tried to delve deeper in your post but there was nothing there. Green has struggled with the Captaincy this year and its a tough gig in such a young side but yesterday there were some pleasing signs for him. And good on him. While we have a great future with our youth we need our senior players to stand up each week. Hopefully this kick starts a turnaround.
  23. Brad Green must have had a brother at the Club all this time and most supporters weren't aware. Thank god he is nothing like Brad Green.
  24. Bravo and well said Old. Some of the definitive statements in this thread on what he is going to do is laughable. Nobody know what he will be doing. But it wont stop the heroes claim a false sense of superiority when he decides either way.
