  1. Because:

    1. Roos doesn't do the drafting

    2. Where did he categorically say this, at a private supporters meeting

    3. If he doesn't rate the forwards how can he rate the key defender?

    1. He has influence dontyathink?

    2. Apparently.

    3. Thinks he can be a tall mid.

I don't necessarily agree with any of these, but there are the clift notes - I saved you some time.

    What RPFC said ^^^

  2. Why are we choosing to ignore what Roos said mid year about not rating TAC Cup forwards? There is no flooding, no double teaming and often the defenders in these sides are just top up players as all the decent/draft able players play midfield or forward.

I recon it's almost certain we'll take Brayshaw and Lever

  3. I'd prefer to keep Evans and only use picks 2 and 3.

Roos’ record in developing late draft picks is overrated. He is a master of getting the best out of players but he doesn't necessarily develop depth or turn draft picks into good players.

I can see why he prefers to trade in players. Look below, his strike rate is poor. (I have left out at least 15 rookie selections in this time).

    2002

Traded pick 21 for Nick Davis (good pickup)

Pick 5 – Jarred McVeigh (brilliant)

Pick 34 – Dempster (father son, ok player)

Pick 50 – Josh Thewlis (who?)

Pick 64 – Nick Malceski (great pick)

PSD 3 – Craig Bolton (Handy)

    2003

Pick 16 – Josh Willoughby (WHO?)

Pick 29 – Tim Schmidt (WHO?)

Pick 45 – Redrafted Amon Buchanan (decent)

Pick 47 – Andrew Eriksen (WHO?)

Pick 69 - Matthew Davis (WHO?)

Rookie Picks – None of note

    2004

Traded pick 15 for Jolly (Serviced a need but Jolly was a backup ruck)

Pick 31 – Jarred Moore (OK Player)

Pick 47 – David Spriggs (Irrelevent at Swans)

Pick 61 – Heath James (did nothing)

Rookie picks – pick 2 Heath Grundy has been a good pickup

    2005

Traded picks 19 and 50 for Ted Richards (Paid overs but worked out well)

Pick 51 – Matthew Laidlaw (who?)

Pick 54 – Kristian Thornton (who?)

Pick 59 – Ryan Brabazon (who?)

    Plenty of wasted rookie picks

Rookie pick 58 – Kieran Jack (worked out well)

    2006

Traded pick 33 for Peter Everitt

    Pick 15 – Daniel O’Keefe

    Pick 49 – Daniel Currie

    Pick 65 – Peter Faulks

    Pick 79 – Jesse White

Rookie pick 15 – Nick Smith (AA defender now)

  4. I'm not too upset with only using 2 picks (plus Stretch) in the draft.

In this off season we have picked up

    • a 40 goal small forward
    • a premiership half back/wingman
    • a full back (a downgrade on Frawley, I agree)
    • a highly rated junior midfielder
    • we look likely to get 2 gun mids (I'm ignoring McCartin after Roos' comments that he can't trust TAC Cup forwards output)
    • plus two rookies

So while we aren't active deep into the draft, we will have added up to 6 players who should walk into our best 22. Give me this over four extra speculative draft picks any day.

  5. Are you a fan of any current players because I look at the backline this year and the pressure they have had to wear ad T-Mac has rarely been beaten badly. I think in a better performing side and being able to find a second or two of space his displosal, like Frawley's and Garlands will improve. He can kick or he would not have made the draft.

Played a very good game against Riewoldt in 2012. However it was extremely wet and not a night for tall forwards. Has done nothing to suggest he will be a good lock down defender for years to come. Gives away stupid free kicks, is clumsy and has shocking skills. I will acknowledge he is young and there is improvement left in him. Happy for him to prove me wrong, but I feel he is greatly overrated.

  6. B:Terlich Frawley Clisby

    HB: Grimes Garland Dunn

    C: Trengove Magner Tyson

    HF: Vince Clark Hogan

    F: Michie Dawes Howe

    R: Gawn Watts N.Jones

    Int: Cross Kent Viney

    Sub: Kent

    Team explained:

    I don't rate McDonald

Magner is almost guaranteed first hands on the ball

Blease to spend early part of season learning defensive running

    Jamar is passed it

M Jones overlooked by me but probably gets a gig

    McKenzie doesn't play

Toumpas to spend a year or two putting on some size.

  7. Gday Demonland members,

I have a very well constructed dog house in the mighty Demons colours that we are giving away. Our family is moving interstate and I thought I would offer this great kennel to another Demons supporter rather than throwing it away. It is about chest high and would suit most dogs. Waterproofed and great paint job.

The kennel is free, so all you would need to do is arrange to pick it up from my factory in Moorabbin.

Please let me know if you are interested?

    David

I'm interested David. Would it fit a labrador? Can pick it up anytime
