  1. FB: Jetta Frost Dunn

    HB: Garland McDonald Lumumba

    C: Vince Jones Watts

    HF: Howe Hogan McCartin

    FF: Garlett Gawn Kent

    Foll: Jamar Tyson Cross

    Int: Brayshaw Viney Toumpas

    S: Salem

    E: Grimes, Bail JKH

I like it but I really think for Round 1 roosy would put Brayshaw in as the sub and start Salem (whos looking pretty good atm)

  2. I get that he's not Mitch Robinson, he's got other options.

But think of how much work he's done for footy at this stage of his life. You wouldn't give that away if you believed you'd make it next year.

I don't think any Hawthorn players would be walking away. They'd back themselves that with a year of A grade development they were a shot (even behind a strong team) of making it as AFL players.

I'm not blaming Evans. I'm blaming the MFC for not creating a brain washing culture of excellence. Because that's what the Hawks have. Battlers line up to play for Box Hill because they think the system will make them stars. MFC half decent players don't want second opportunities on the rookie list.

Dayle Garlett sends his regards :roos:

  3. We want to rookie him as we don't want to pay him for nothing and then pay another rookie to fill a list spot.

He's called our bluff and said if you dont want me that's fine. I'm not getting a game from the rookie list and Casey is a dump anyway, I'd rather play somewhere else. Roos doesn't like me, he didn't play me much at all last year, games should be harder to come by this year and I'm not having a Jetta year by a change of positions or big increase in fitness etc, so give me the money and I'll walk.

If Evans is on 200k and a rookie costs 55k then I guess the starting point for negotiations would be a payout of 145k to Evans. That way everyone could be happy.

Either the club balks and pays him more or even his full seasons salary (which after a decent 2013 might be more like 250k or even more) or Evans agrees to the rookie spot.

    The clock is ticking.

That's not right. If the club delists someone who is in contract then they have to pay out their full contract. I don't think the club will mind this as we have excess salary space in 2015 and want to get rid of all the dead wood so we can target some big names at the end of 2015.

  4. GREAT NEWS! Looks like we will get the ANZAC Eve game vs Richmond:

"Richmond and Melbourne also appear to have been successful in their joint push to play each other on the eve of Anzac Day, with the Tigers hosting what both clubs hope will become a regular fixture on the night of April 24. Next year that game falls on a Friday night". http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/tigers-to-play-14-home-and-away-games-at-mcg-in-2015-20141023-11at1h.html

Would love to see Eddie's face as he vigourously fought this suggestion!!

Would expect us to host in alternate years. Really excited for our club on getting this fixture going!

That's terrific news for our football club! We're on the way up! C'mon 2015!!! :)

  5. In an ideal world I think a starting 22 would look something similar to:

    Back: Jetta Frost Garland

    Half Back: Lamumba McDonald Dunn

    Centre: Vince N.Jones Howe

    Half Forward: Watts Dawes Garlett

    Forward: Hogan Fitzpatrick JKH

    Rucks: Gawn Vince Tyson

    Int: Mitchie Pederson Grimes

    Sub: Salem

    Emerg: Cross Bail Harmes

The sides a bit too tall for my liking would take out Fitzy along with one of Jamar/Gawn/Pederson depending on what we want to do with our ruck options

  6. I never understood why Carlton wanted to delist him, I think MM is getting craz(ier) in his old age.

Garlett would be an excellent pick up for our fwd line.

HF: Howe - Dawes - Garlett

FF: Kent - Hogan - Pedersen

That could start to cause some headaches.

Kent and Garlett have the footskills and pace to really stretch some defences, and also put on a fair bit of pressure on the ball coming back out.

    I am all for it.

I think you might have forgotten about JKH

  7. I personally feel that if Mitch left us it would be the biggest kick in the ***** anyone could give us. The amount of support we have shown Mitch has been incredible and he owes it to us to come back and make a difference to this footy club that has done so much for him. Really, this is a chance for him to show some loyalty and faith.
