His assessment on Matt Kennedy shows he writes a lot to seem informed, but doesn't know a great deal... Lots of impressive words and 'recruiting' terms...poor identification. I stopped reading there...lucky I got there after he rated Partington at 9. I assume the rest was as 'interesting'.

Brett Anderson only made the comments about hearing that we'll take Curnow this week. So I believe it is Parish and has always been
He's been on Curnow for longer than a week.

12 marks against big bodies in the AIS v Bullants game.
Not that it matters much because he was very impressive, but it was 7 marks not 12 against the 'Ants. Took 4 against Werribee too.

Parish is an in and under (not just outside player) who like tackling and ripping the ball away.
Parish's lack of tackling is one of the major knocks on him.
-
Entirely different story and circumstance.
-
Because he won't be there at 3...fairly simple.

Number 18 for green was very very clean with everything he did. Skinny, but looked quick and smart.
-
Lovell is definitely the stand out mid in my eyes.
Glad you aren't making the picks then!! Small, not quick, just an OK kick, plenty of cheap kicks in back half, not a great decision maker.

I don't think being aggressive is a pre-requisite, but being competitive is.
Parish is a competitor...Jimmy and Jack are not.

Until Garland, Grimes, Bail, Terlich, M.Jones, McKenzie go, were aren't going to improve. All 25+ and are list cloggers.

Parish is competitive. Tucker has question marks and his kicking isn't as good as it needs to be as a running half back. We have so many holes. Weitering should be the number 1 priority of we can find away to let Carlton and maybe Gold Coast get ahead of us on the ladder.

I thought the first half last week was too good to be true!
-
He's a star. Would take him at 3 in a heartbeat.
-
Port delisted him so he could sign with a club as a DFA...otherwise he would have had to take his chances in the draft.

Hindsight of the tallest order - we stuffed up Cook - we stuffed up Strauss - these were picks taken well in advance of where the so called experts of the day had them rated.
You wonder where the papers get the ideas on where most players will be drafted - most papers are only feeding off recruiters and talent watchers who actually go and watch the games. ( Sheahan and Emma Quayles opinions are somewhat different as I believe both are avid watchers of the TAC - both rated Toumpas ahead of Wines).
The one I find the most laughable is the thought of taking Dustin Martin over Scully. I understand that Martin is showing himself to be the superior footballer but not a recruiter in the land would have taken Martin over Scully at the time.
I hope no one gives me the nonsense that recruiters are paid big dollars to be able to pick the right players. To espouse this theory is to suggest that recruiting is an exact science - it just isn't.
Emma doesn't watch any TAC Cup really. Just talks to recruiters.

Chip is 10000000% gone. Club is happy for him to go, so should supporters.

Ahern too.
Both he and Laverde are tipped to be late first rounders at this stage - would expect them to tighten to top 10 a la Salem and Freeman.
Goddard and Lamb slipping big time.
Both tipped to be inside the top 10 three weeks ago....

Grimes truly is a rubbish footballer.

It's not sounding like a very interesting first round.
Adelaide would certainly want a first round.
Who would they be willing to trade for our first pick?
Better still who would we like of theirs to top our coffers?
Adelaide has a 1st round pick.
If Chip goes, we could have two picks in the top five.

Scharenberg was the other player highly rated by the Dees. In top four.
-
Dees were drafting Billings if we kept Pick 2. That is fact...Makes the whole argument redundant.

On talent alone, Pickett is a top 3 pick. If Frawley leaves and we get a 1st round compo pick, a combination of Pickett and Goddard/Durdin in the 1st round, then a rebounding defender in the 2nd round followed by Stretch in round 3 would be the perfect draft.

On a side note, Gerard Healey on 3aw tonight basically revealed that Byrnes wanted to retire last summer but we talked him out of it.
He should be dropped this week and spend the remainder of the year at Casey.
We tried to talk Kosi into coming across and playing a year as well instead of retiring. This is fact.

Here are a few profiles of possible pick 9's from the Inside Footy draft guide....
Nathan Freeman Sandringham Dragons 16/6/95 H: 182cm W: 85kg
Like Josh Kelly, he took the combine by storm not only with his testing but with his personality he was up and about all week. His personality is a bit like the way he plays its up and about and sometimes a bit in your face, but in a good way, but I think hes exciting and we are going to be talking about him in the next few years at AFL level taking the game on and doing really well. Hes got that electric burst of speed but has also worked very hard on his endurance and has firmed right into a possible first round pick chance as he plays football for the current day AFL like a Luke Shuey or even a Daniel Kerr. Sandringham region manager Ryan OConnor
DRAFT RANGE: Top 10
Matthew Scharenberg Glenelg 18/9/95 H: 190cm W: 89kg
An elite player. It was unfortunate that he hurt his foot and didnt play a lot of football late in the year after playing a great Under 18s national carnival. Just finds the footy really well, read the game brilliantly playing as a key defender in the Under 18s and played in the back pocket in the seniors for us. He is elusive, doesnt get caught often and makes great decisions. His skill is improving and hes a long kick but needs to keep working on his short options and hitting those regularly. A great ability to know when to defend and when to attack and is just clever with what he does. Hes a great size for his position and he understands where hes at with his footy in terms of not getting ahead of himself. Keen in the gym and keen on the track hes going to be a beauty. After what he did at the carnival the feeling was he is a top five draft selection. Glenelg football manager Ken Applegarth
