  1. I opened facebook today and saw a post from Fox Footy (below) plugging the Fox Footy Channel. Nothing earth shattering here but I felt a little bit of pride at seeing a Melbourne player/jumper as the image to sell it. In the past decade we would not have seen a Dees jumper to sell anything. Are we slowly becoming relevant again? Is the social media intern at Fox Footy a Dees supporter? Is someone going to get fired for not putting a Richmond, Essendon or Collingwood mug up there. Jack sells.

  6. I'll talk about this tonight on the Podcast @ 8:30pm - Listen and chat LIVE: http://demonland.com/podcast I have no problem with it. I knew in advance that the club was doing their own podcast. This site was born nearly 20 years ago out of the fact that there was very little official Demons content on the web and what little content there was there certainly wasn't any official channels where you could discuss the Dees with other Dees supporters. Demonology started at around the same time as did Big Footy. It wasn't until the past 5 to 8 years that the official site started producing more and more content and having a bigger budget and obviously more access to players that content got better and better. Where Demonland has always been better is having more avenues for discussion and debate. The club never went down the route of having a traditional message board and I guess with social media they have that now too. I was surprised that they went down the avenue of having a podcast because given that they have the access to the players and the huge social media audience they can just film an interview and post it to social. Having a podcast seems redundant. Having said that I have no problem with more Demons content on the net. I'm not trying to compete with the club. In my eyes the club always comes first. Their podcast is hosted by Clint Stanaway who is a media professional and there is no way I could compete with that. I'm a complete amateur when it comes to interviewing and broadcasting and I'm certainly no expert when it comes to footy and I just do it for fun as I have always done with this site. I am happy that the club will still be providing us with players occasionally for our podcast and we will keep doing what we do. The more the better I say. Go Dees.
  7. I've been breeding a colony of ants for this very reason.
  8. I have trust issues. My bags have been packed since Round 23 and are still waiting at the door. Who am I kidding? I'm never leaving this club.
  9. Tonight we'll discuss JLT #2, talk expectations for 2018, media predictions, injuries, opposition watch and AFLW.
  10. May seem like a stupid question but will missing the finals in 2018 be considered a failure? We will be discussing this on tonight's Demonland Podcast LIVE at 8:30pm - http://demonland.com/podcast
  11. From the Preseason Training thread: No TMac. Oliver in the rehab group? (where is the sky is falling emoticon?)
  12. Please keep on topic and only discuss injuries in this thread.
  13. Join us LIVE tonight (14/3) for the Demonland Podcast at 8:30pm Listen and Chat LIVE: http://demonland.com/podcast Call: 03 9016 3666 Skype: Demonland31 We'll be discussing JLT #2, our growing injury list, Round 1 and much, much more.
  14. Of course he'll play. He has super human recuperative powers. This is the same guy that miraculously recovered from a severe concussion after that Trengove tackle and kicked 6 goals the next week.
  15. No sure how we can test that out. It's not like Viney can scream at his hammy. * * I am aware that Viney is not playing Round 1.
  16. If this was a Melbourne player he'd be out for 6 weeks. Geelong are confident he will play in 11 days.
  17. Like getting a foot in the Friday night TV market we're going to have to put runs on the board for people to take us seriously and that includes fans. Speaking from experience it's hard to get young ones on board to go to the footy when you've had a decade like we've had. I still buy my little ones a membership because I can afford it but I'm sure that there are many who can't or won't buy a membership for a kid that won't go to the footy. Hopefully some sustained success will rebuild the membership but the results have to happen first.
  18. Looking forward to your extremely detailed report.
