Do we compare to the Cats of 07?

Let's all bag teams for being "shocking" premiers while we sit here without having won one in 40+ years...

It does seem to be leaning towards being massively hypocritical doesn't it ;) ?!!!

Not having Whelan KILLED us thie year. His run through defence and kicking to a target was missed. Ward was flashy but turned it over far too often.

Rivers will add pace where Sgt. Biz was lacking.

Sylvia HAS to come on in 08, and Mcleand needs an injury free year.

We are not at the cats level, but a few smart moves in the offseason and a lucky run with injuries and we are still a top 4 side.

08 could be anything for the MFC!

One of the main differences between Geelong of 2006 and Geelong of 2007 was their general fitness. It was quite clear during '06 that a lot of players weren't able to see out games and they sacked their fitness coach during the season. A far better grounding saw them come out far better prepared mentaly and physically this year.

Next season's Melbourne will have a new coaching panel, different training methods and a number of changes in the team's make up. A lot of players will be coming back from injury. We'll be a different proposition in 2007.
