Brownlow

Featured Replies

Hi guys and gals,

Just seeing who people are having a punt on for the brownlow.

And if your not having a bet, just some thoughts.

I will prob lay down 1 or 2 more bets but as it stands ive got money on Travis Johnstone to be our highest vote getter.

Jonathon Brown to win it.

Might go Scott Thompson for top 5 vote getters.

What about all of you?

Put 3 wagers on last week....

$10 on S.Thompson to finish Top 5 - $41

$10 on J-Mac to lead MFC votes - $4.50

$10 on Jones to lead MFC votes - $5.00

Figure I should easily walk away with a profit....

One of those two will definately be our highest vote getter!

A bit sceptical on the Scott Thompson one, as I think McLeod will take a lot of votes off him..... But worth a punt at over 40-1

You reckon???

Remember votes only really come in games you win.... Just because they were our best in a game when we got pumped does not mean brownlow votes. Think of Blues game, Dogs game, the last Collingwood loss. Johnstone was def best on for 2 of them and is bound to get votes against pies. He may just bob up.

Jones and McDonald easily. TJ will only poll around 4 votes. Jones and Junior around 7.

Still the best bet for the whole Brownlow is Scott Thompson for top 5. Brilliant value.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
