I've never heard of the 1 match per week final four but I could be wrong. Seems almost to penalise the best team with only 2 games in a month.

The final 4 was played over 4 weeks.

1st week 1st semi

2nd week 2nd semi

3rd week prelim

4th week grand

In the Sydney AFL comp, just finished it was top 4

This is how they played the finals

For example (using the AFL top 4 of this season)

1. Geelong

2. Port Adelaide

3. West Coast

4. Kangaroos

Week 1

1 v 2 (winner into grand final, loser to play in week 2 semi)

3 v 4 (winner to play in week 2 semi, loser bows out)

Week 2

Winner of 3 v 4, v Loser of 1 v 2 (winner to play the winner of 1 v 2, loser bows out)

Week 3

Winner of 1 v 2 v Winner of Semi

In the Sydney AFL comp, just finished it was top 4

just wondering why you bothered to use the example of the afl top four considering you didnt use them again, after you mentioned they were top 4? lol
