You know what, i'm actually retracting my statement. I have been to 12 out of 18 games this year, including one interstate, i think i was being too hard on myself (or maybe i've blocked most of the matches out from memory!). I still think i would care more about changing commitments this week if we were doing well but i've gone to basically every single game i could this year. I have been though bad times at Melbourne, and always stuck by them, maybe you do think i'm lumped in with the others but i think i've given the MFC amazing support under the circumstances.

So am i, and i think most people here are too. (Though i think that's been established in this thread already)

Nice work mate. Agree with you. You are Melbourne. 12 games is very good.

Well I'll cheer for you tomorrow night - I better hear you vs. the pies though. Haha.

I've been a member since 2000, I don't go to a lot of games though. Unfortunately I'm always took hungover for a Saturday game. Sundays I like to lay on the couch. I have been to at least half a dozen this year, and watched us loose all of them bar Collingwood.

It is hard to go and watch such a soft, up-and-down team play. I can't remember the last time I watched them lead after the first quarter, and go on with it. If we win, we always come from behind, and it's usually the result of an 8-10 goal quarter, why we can't do that all the time? Very frustrating sometimes and maybe why I found myself missing the last couple.

I am going Sat'd night...would love to watch a win.

i agree with you!

last week, clearly we went into the last quarter saying 'all we have to do is win this quarter' and we won it by 10 points

why don't we just say that before every quarter?

simple!

We need people to come to our matches. Even if it's just our home matches.

I guess being an interstate member gets me off the hook for some of the stuff being thrown around in here......

I would love to fly down more more often, I hate not being able to be there and do get jealous of those who can go week in week out.

But a combination of ongoing bad health, which subsequently means no money, makes that a little difficult, if not impossible.

I have been a (interstate) member (along with my dad) for about 20 years now. Since I was in primary school.

And I adore going to the games when the boys do actually come to town :D !!!

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
