Peter Hayes QC

I went to last nights wake at the G for Peter Hayes. I had no idea he had done so much for so many. It was mentioned during the speeches that he was the person responsible for ten thousand "battlers" getting their money back after the collapse of Pyramid in the 90's. Geelong should name their main street after him! He really helped the Dee's and it was dissappointing that only two directors, Bev O'Connor and Steve Bickford were there, no players or officials. Good to see though that Gary Hardeman paid his respects along with some former employees.

Anyway, Peter Hayes was a Melbourne man through and through as he bailed the club out in it's most dire times.

Thanks for your post, Sad that often people are summed up or judged by the manner of their passing than their true worth. He sounds like a thoroughly decent man who should be remembered for the good that he did.
