AFL crowds are down

the way the game is being played. its evolved in to a rolling maul, scrappy and only great to watch if its a significant game or the scores are tight. the afl need to look at restricting rotations which will reduce the ability of 90% of the field contesting every stoppage. it looks like under 13s. or a flock of seagulls fighting over a bag of chips.

We need to get it back to the fast free flowing chain of positional footy, where the fwd pocket wasnt contesting possessions on the half back flank!

Neutral observers arent going to games of footy as much as they used to unless theyre blockbusters. its just too congested.

IMO, they're lucky that the Grand Final was played between 2 respected teams, who both play fairly traditional games.

The Hawks still play a fairly open attacking gameplan, & the Swans aren't too removed from the older 'man on man' defend, then rebound at goal IMO.

Many of the others are Too flood oriented or too strategic.

And in my opinion, the smaller games are worse than the bigger games as these top games are well drilled in they're gamestyles. the lower teams are less drilled & worse to watch. Scrums.

We don't have time for all sides to become 'even', so they can all play exciting to watch Footy.

Which is a big part of what I believe to be the reasoning behind FA and it's compensation - the re-seeding of the grass - insofar as the AFL is concerned.

Vitally important that the AFL micro-monitor it and adjust as necessary to bring an end to the never-a-chance supporter fatigue.

Systematically removing contact from the game.

Glorified basketball is what they want.

Yep pandering to the family angle, OK, but it's gone too far. I agree.

They have sanitized the game away from combat.

And Americanised it.
