A couple of hours is a long time in footy

I couldn't make it to Skilled on Saturday (some would say thank god), and planned to watch the game in a local pub, but I live quite near Vic Park so popped along to watch Casey Reserves, Jack Fitzpatrick kicked six goals and did some sublime tap work in the ruck, and Kelvin Lawrence tackled anything that moved in a Frankston shirt, according to Jiice Newton who was also at the game, he had 18 tackles upto 3/4 time.......Casey won by 160 points, went away thinking that Fitzy and Kel would have a good future at MFC if they keep going like that.

Popped along to the pub with my partner and watched the future dissolve in front of us, I wished that Kel Lawrence was playing alongside Jordie Mac a couple of times during the next two hours, but then reality set back in....I have never had such a high and low in footy in all the years I have been playing and watching...in such a short space of time

Although not based on all that much. Jack Fitzpatrick excites more than anyone on our list.

The little I have seen with him coupled with the glowing reports from the footy department has me really excited. Lets he hope he has a strong finish to the season with the Casey seniors.

Not sure why Kelvin wasn't playing seniors this week. The week before he played on a wing and kicked 3 in a BOG performance, would have though he deserved a call up.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
