We have our own game plan and I love it when it works!

I think everyone is missing a major factor to come out of the Melb, Rich , game.

Jamer back, hitting the ball to Maloney and first use of the ball

On most occassions the pressure is straight back onto the opposition.

This is where it all starts.

Add the improvement and committment that is now being showed by the MFC players and yes we can stand up to some extra pressure.

To me this Friday night is a very Important Game!

At Ethiad Stadium, against a once powerful side that is in a form slump, plus our record at Ethiad, adding the fact we have now put two wins together, after such a up and down rollercoaster season and this game to me will be a defining moment and game for the MFC for this season one way or the other.

If we win there is no doubt in my mind the MFC has taken a major step forward, and I believe Bailey will hold on as coach for at least for one more year (obviosuly as long as the rest of the season doesn't fall apart).

However if we get thumped then we have failed to take a badly needed step.

Of the hard games coming up, Melb.is expected not to win any of them in most football pundits eyes.

A win over Footscray this Friday night I am sure will change this perception.

Lets hope the Dees lift another cog for everyones sake, it would be fantastic to see and would be a real reward for effort.

Wow cool story, Hansel.

Another amazing post from the master.

Hey, I'm just glad some of you numbskulls are beginning to recognise what has really been pretty bloody obvious for some time now.

Carry on.

No, we play higher risk, higher reward than other teams.

I see what you're saying here and agree to an extent.

I think by virtue of our inexperience turnovers and structural breakdowns hurt more now than they will in the future.

I think by virute of our inexperience turnovers and structural breakdowns occur more now than they will in the future.

I think as we get older, stronger, and more experienced as a unit, and Bailey gets better at match day coaching, the turnovers and structural breakdowns will become less frequent and we'll develop the consistency we're looking for.

This is also true.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
