Last year Tom Wood, a faithful Dees supporter and great bloke passed away from Ewing's Sarcoma. He was 28. His story was captured magnificently by Martin Flanagan in The Age, describing Tom's last day at the footy with his dad when MFC invited him into the rooms before the game. I get a bit teary every time I read it.

A team of Tom's friends and family are doing the RunMelbourne on Sunday 18th July to raise money for sarcoma cancer research. All money raised will be directed to the Rainbows for Kate Foundation (RFK) to fund a PhD scholarship for sarcoma research in memory of Tom.
