While I too was not impressed that this bloke got off this charge, I think it was more out of frustration at losing a better player through injury, rather than the actual incident.

After seeing the footage on On The Couch, I am not at all surprised he got off. I personally don't believe Sylvia was backing off. The Eagles guy hadn't got rid of the ball, was running in to goals, and people are saying Sylvia (when 2-3 metres behind him) stopped chasing? The bump happened well within an area where anyone would lay a bump to protect the ball carrier, and let' face it, when these guys are running as quick as they do, there is only a split-second to make a decision.

It was unlucky for Sylvia, but going by the footage that showed the incident, I will agree with the OTC panel and say that the available footage was inconclusive.

Hhhmmm I thought he had eased off two steps before the bump. He was head down chasing hard, he got hit in the jaw because he had eased off and his head was up from what I saw. But we all see different things brother.

We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
