Ok....Why? and at 25 mins before the kick off...I don't understand.

I know time is an issue, but worked great last year... could have some ex players to attend on the day !!

I've been asked to help promote this...original email that went out to members..now we are spreading the word. (There is a BBQ before hand.)

Original email....

From: [email protected]

Subject: Operation MFC - Saturday 27 March - Light Tower 2 - 1.45pm

Date: Mon, 1 Feb 2010 10:35:58 +0000

Calling all Melbourne supporters

Watts...Scully...Trengrove...Jurrah, not to mention more Saturday matches...

The news just keeps getting better.

Let's gather for another call to action at

Light Tower 2 @ 1.45pm* (*time subject to change). Again the Club is fantastic and very supportive - more details to follow.

Last year many of us rocked up despite the hail, the rain and the fact it was a Sunday and a twilight match to top it off.

This year let's aim for 1,000 supporters outside light tower 2. What a statement that would be to other clubs and to the people of Victoria.

So who is in? Count is 50..... NOW AT 100, we want more !!!!

Enquiries - contact Sarah on 0427 210 879

At 1:45 I'll be sitting in my seat. If it was 1, then maybe, 12:30 great, 1:45 seems stupid.

yeah sorry have too agree if it was earlier (12:30ish) i would be there for sure but i intend to be seated by 1:45

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
