Let's get all of the grimes

Featured Replies

Yeah he is in the years draft (or eligible to be so at least)

im not even going to bother replying to this properly, other than grimes has only played 3 games, yet is able to gather 25 possies with 96% efficiency on the weekend.

trav is part of the old team and the old culture

So..Nugget.......does the old team and old culture include players like Neitz who was the heart and soul of the club for many years?? You're quick to bag Trav, sounds like you're quick to sell yourself too. Never forget where you came from Nugget!!

Good to see 'grant' suck you all in lol

Geary from StKilda got the nomination

Grimes was robbed

Grimes was robbed

It's all good. He'll get it next week if Maric doesn't beat him to it.

Apparently Jack's younger brother (?Aaron, playing for Hurstbridge last weekend )was crashed while taking a brilliant courageous mark running with the flight.

He was still holding the ball while unconscious, while the ambulance was called.

This is the sort of fearlessness that is required of League footballers. He's a dedicated Demon man. Is there any way we can keep him under wraps(a la WCE), and make him a Demon?(eg exaggerated shoulder weakness, like Judd pre-draft, which dropped him from an obvious pick one to pick three)(?correct).

I think they Hype around grimes does not so much come from his 2 or 3 games but from his junior football. He was much hyped amongst the industry when drafted so its legitimate for us to be excited and hyped by his early performance.

Dylan grimes is suppose to be quite good but it doesnt really matter if he wants to come to us or not! lets hope he falls somewhere near our pick!

Or if not lets hope he gets drafted by freo has 2 years of development and then leaves them to sign with us :D

the old culture includes neitz...of course it does, an absolute stalwart of this footy club

the old culture also includes chris fagan, neale daniher, mark riley, craig cameron, paul gardner, steve harris/20 other CEO's etc etc...

Where did I say the old culture is bad?...

It is just the old culture and it is time to fully let go of it and make the most of our chances to move on.

I back the club 100% in trading Trev, but by george, I look forward to watching him for Brissy and hope he does well, but he is not the right player to be at Melbourne anymore. We have a new era of demons coming through, and this is the new culture, with a new gameplan and gamestyle...it would not be to the benefit of the club to hold onto these players.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
