Anybody else think so? Something I saw today reminded me of watching Greg Williams. I remember Williams once, on a forward pocket surrounded by Demons' players, his back to the goals, and he kicked it kind of over his shoulder directly into the arms of the Carlton forward (probably Kernahan). Williams couldn't have seen him, he somehow knew instinctively that he was there (maybe from what his brain had computed fractionally earlier). It wasn't luck, he did it too often.

Davey did this today, into someone's arms (Bate?). Anyway, it was so quick and perfectly positioned and he had no time to look and think. He just knew where the Melb forward was. Kind of uncanny.

Someone posted here that Davey's got composure & awareness and something else, then deleted it. But they're right, there's some kind-of sixth sense about the way he plays.

And I've totally forgiven him for passing straight to Aker, Aaron made up for it with a mighty gutsy effort straight afterwards. Fantastic skills and heart.

My wife asked me how he did his "thread the eye of the needle" passes. All I could think to answer was that if we could answer that question we would have 22 players doing the same thing. He is starting to remind me of Flower in that he gives you that feeling that all is well when the ball is in his hands.

I haven't seen a post calling for Aaron to be played in the forward line for at least six weeks now, that's as good an indicator as any of how well he's been going.

He's finally delivering consistently and beating his tag, he's shown maturity this year and hasn't let a tag get under his skin like he has in the past. It's only been 6 weeks though and the challenge for Flash is to mainain his form week in week out. If he can do that into next year when we start winning games he'll be considered among the games true elites.

It's a big ask, he's set the bar pretty high in the last month and a half, he's been absolutely sensational. I think having Wonna, Jurrah, Benny and the Jet has forced Aaron to realise he's a leader and needs to set an example. He's responded admirably to the added responsibility.

It's been a long time since we've had a genuine star. It's not outside the realm of possibility that we could have 2, 3, even 4 within 2 or 3 years. Long way to go but exciting times ahead.

When the ball is in Aaron Davey`s hand you can just relax a bit. Opposed to having the ball in Clint Bartram`s hands. Although Clint tries hard. Against Adelaide Daveys skills stood out. No one was hitting targets besides Davey. Sounds like the days of when Robbie Flower was the only player for Melbourne hitting targets. Although sadly I wasnt born when Robbie Flower was playing but their are video clips.

It wasn't long ago that many a respected poster around these parts argued that you could only fit one player of Aaron Davey's stature into a modern football team - the argument went something along the lines of him being too light. We could seriously do with six Aaron Davey's right now. Two attacking off half-back, one on each wing and a couple closer to goal. He's in career best form and a certain All-Australian candidate if he maintains form and fitness. When does Mike Sheahan bring out his next Top 50 list? There's nothing better than seeing a player who has been on the list for quite a few years take a significant step just when you thought his development had plateaued. A little of the same from Colin Sylvia and then we're seriously in business.

I think Davey has really benefited from taking the younger Indigenous boys under his wings. It has made him a leader on and off the field. I remember when we first got Davey as a wide eyed newbie - he said something along the lines of -i have learnt a lot from watching Daniel Wells play and train. Davey now sees homself as setting the benchamark for the other boys from the "Brotherhood" to aspire to.

At the start of the season I would have easily traded Davey for Wells. Not even a chance now. Flash is back!!!

Haha, yeah. I'd add Morton to that as well. Particularly, the Bulldogs game. Every time Morton touched it, I took a sigh of relief. Great decision makers: Flower, Davey and Morton.

I think Bails deserves a touch of the credit for Davey's resurrection too. It's obviously his move to play him off half back consistently and it's been a masterstroke.
