  1. I have thought for along time that the Casey deal does nothing to maximise our competitive position. Although we have made great progress in the last year or so in getting both the AFL men's side and the VFL side to play similar styles of football ( believe it or not it is only a matter of two or three years ago when the Casey coach used to knock the senior side's style of play at quarter and three quarter time), our actual results there for both men and women are frankly abysmal. This does not matter when we assentially play practise mstches there, but now that we play first grade women's matches there, and this week we are literally playing for the chance to progress to a premiership match with the girls, it is time to ask whether we should ever play competitive football there. Frankly I think we would be much better off to play at Gosches Paddock than at Casey (or even at the Junction Oval if it comes to that). We would get a better crowd and we would probably win! Something that is unlikely at Casey....
