Apparently it was mentioned on Fox Footy on TV earlier this evening that Clayton Oliver could well be the early favourite for the 2023 Brownlow Medal. Any thoughts on this? Obviously Premiership Medallions are far more valuable, but it would be a wonderful individual achievement if our Clarrie could win this year's Brownlow Medal for 2023. Anyway, if he continues to have outstanding performances like he did in his 150th game with 25+ possessions and kicks 2 or 3 goals again he will definitely keep gaining votes from the umpires. Especially as there are now 4 field umpires. So I am now assuming the votes are 4, 3, 2, 1 rather than the previous 3, 2, 1? However, I am unsure how the voting system will work this year in games compared to previous years. I guess we shall wait and see? Either way, it would be fantastic to have a new Brownlow Medallist at the Melbourne Football Club. It has been a long time since Shane Woewodin won a Brownlow Medal back in 2000.
