  1. Eradicate these lapses please and there’s not much time left before the opener.

We can handle a poor quarter every now but the key is to at least kick a couple of goals against the run of play or implement some kind of plan B to stop the bleeding.  We dominated the first quarter yet the Saints managed to kick 4.

In saying that, it was a positive response in the last quarter for a JLT.

Tyson was very composed in the second half, Jesse was clinical by hand and foot and worked tirelessly throughout. His work in close was a highlight. Lever.....well.....pay him more.

Brayshaw a big plus, Jeffy better for the run and Trac has amazing vision.

    Get ready folks!!!

  2. Sorry fellas on a quick break. I like Merchant Navy a lot but I’m glad @Wadda We Sing picked it because I can count my winners down the straight over the years on the one hand.

Im having trouble so far but plenty of time left to find a “spesssshallll”.?

  3. I browsed through Sydney and Melbourne and there’s definitely some great value on offer.

Ace High seems to be getting the wobbles in the markets. Out to $14 as of tonight. He’s drawn well and could easily find himself in the first few on the fence. Show A Star (Race 9 Syd) has drawn poorly again and although the $8 is tempting it’s best to wait on him at this stage. Some real shorties going around in the sprint races in Sydney.

At this early stage Shillelagh (R7 Flemington) looks a good bet at $4.20.

Edit: Brave Smash back in distance.....hmmm? Craig Williams suggested this according to a news story I came across a few days ago.

I really like our scarf, i send them all around the world to promote our brand/football club. Funny enough the Americans & the Swiss love them the most. Think its something to do with the colours and having Melbourne on it.

Can you send me 5? I'm still waiting...

JLT squad trained first this morning, no TMac and Harmes trained with the reserve players who came out later. Lewis, ANB running laps and 400m semi sprints. ANB looks to be moving ok. No Viney either.

    Thanks.

Could Harmes be left out tomorrow night? From all reports he hasn't trained with the main group all week.

Well i tell you right now, Ace High will be my best bet for Saturday. Hopefully we can get a good price.

Hi Wadda, current odds for Ace High in the Guineas. $11W $2.90P.

In the Australian Derby 2400m (April 7th Randwick) he's the $6 favourite.

  7. With the Golden Slipper just over 2 weeks away, does anything stand out in the early markets @Wadda We Sing @Macca @binman?

Santos is currently $11 but I'm unsure if he can topple some of the more fancied runners. Obviously I want to see the horse win but Sunlight and Written by have been nothing short of outstanding to date. Those two will be hard to beat IMO.

  8. It will be interesting when the squad gets announced.

ANB looks like missing and Harmes trained away from the main group according to training reports.

Kent stated at the family day he was looking forward to Thursday night and the shoulder was feeling good. Maybe he's a chance to play.

According to the Herald Sun today this is our current injury list.

    MELBOURNE

    INJURY LIST

    Jack Viney (foot)

    Jordan Lewis (calf)

    Dom Tyson (calf)

    Jeff Garlett (rib)

    Dean Kent (shoulder)

    Aaron vandenBerg (foot)

    Joel Smith (left)

    Where did Joel Smith go?

I asked Kent about his shoulder at the family day and he said all is good. Also said he was looking forward to Thursday, is he a chance to play?

The absence of James Harmes is concerning. He was on Instagram posting, so clearly nothing major wrong. Robbo simply skipped over him, no explanation for why he wasn't there. Most unusual. Could it be discipline reasons? Illness.? It's very odd.

That's why I was curious. If it was a case of a common cold or family commitments Robbo surely could have mentioned it like he did with Daisy. The fact they announced Number 5 Trac and then straight to number 3 Salem was peculiar. Was the club worried about the reaction from supporters when he said " Our new number 4 is ....." surely not!

Tell me about it Wadda

Came home strong with another trifecta at Flemington (race 8) ... would have been a big big day if 'Care to Think' salutes.  Probably the same story for the other best bet punters.

The thread picked out quite a few winners on the day ... Santos,   Nomothaj,  Aloft,  Hear the Chant & Dixie Blossoms all saluted.  We also made mention of Secret Agenda & Grunt.  It's just a matter of working out how to turn those picks into a profitable exercise.

Macca on fire! Missed out on the multi but finished in front thanks to Scarecrow in the "Get Out" Stakes. It's been fun again guys.

Is Winx still heading to Ascot later in the year?

Good luck with your selections guys

It's still on the radar last I heard. Depends on her Autumn campaign but @Maccamight be able to shed some more light on it.

Edit: Oops, I see you already posted while I was typing Macca.

Bad luck with Alizee - not her day.  Couldn't get going.  Picked up a decent percentage of the lesser trifecta in the race so can't complain.

That is an impressive win by Grunt ... Rosehill Guineas is next (possibly)  Big future for the horse regardless.

Good job Macca, yeah Grunt too strong, I had a little something each way on Bring Me Roses. Lucky I chose her instead of Levendi.

I thought the horse had every chance ... the winner was too good.  'Care to Think' just didn't have the same finishing speed like it has shown previously.  Something was amiss even though it didn't run badly.

I thought due to the horses ability it gave itself every chance of winning even though it probably covered more turf than any other.
