  1. Last Sunday was definitely a massive kick in the guts for us supporters. Maybe from here on we can generate some positive discussion on how we can beat the Toiges. IMO, we should look at trying to stop Cotchin and his influence rather than putting all our eggs in the one basket with Dusty. Selection will be interesting and it looks like we might have an idea of the changes when Casey play on Sunday. The below is from an article on the MFC website earlier in the week. Both clubs will submit teams on Monday night and won't be required to publicise squads of 25 in the lead up to that deadline.
  2. Vegas Golden Knights sweep the LA Kings. The Golden Knights became the first NHL team to sweep a Stanley Cup playoff series in its inaugural season. Bravo!! The games were a lot closer than the series score suggests. Four 1 goal victories to the Knights. Caps get back one on Columbus to keep the series alive and it looks like the Wild are up against it going back to Winnipeg 3-1 down.
  3. Spot on, my memory isn’t that great at the moment but I believe the original question on 360 was “ Will you get the job on Dusty?” Bernie replied by saying he didn’t even know he was tagging Zorko until Goodwin told him at the airport.
  4. He said it on AFL 360 last night when the question was put to him. $hits and giggles, that’s all!
  5. Anti climax. They didn’t accept with Dan Zephyr on Saturday. He’s nominated for a race at Ballarat on Sunday but we’ll worry about that if Saturday proves less than fruitful.
  6. Lol, well done Macca, PL eliminated indeed. $6 for 100%. We could worse than that. That was a great dividend for the race you mention above, you’ve always said it though, the bigger races generate ridiculous pools sometimes, hence the decent dividends.
  7. The playoffs are indeed frantic, I watched the Boston v Leafs game this morning and it was non-stop action. Check out this ridiculous save by the winning goalie.
  8. Done deal Macca. No pressure on me because I know you three will box the trifecta with your winning selections.
  9. Dan Zephyr has performed ok at set weights. He’s had about 3 or 4 starts. 3rd in the Gold Bullion at Pakenham in 2015 to Burning Front, 3rd again in the same race in 2016, this time to Grande Rosso and Burning Front. A 4th by 1.9 lengths at $51 to Redzel in The Heath back in November 2016. Those days are truly behind him now unfortunately.
  10. http://racingaustralia.horse/FreeFields/Weights.aspx?Key=2018Apr21,VIC,Caulfield These are the fields for Caulfield at “weights” stage. Acceptances are tomorrow morning. Will go through all his form now to see if he’s had a start at weight for age.
  11. Also, the Zephyr is nominated for two decent races at Caulfield again this week. One is a set weights race, I don’t think he’s ever had a start in one of those, I’ll have to check.
  12. Come to think of it, Macca is spot on, the onus falls on the 4th contributor. Happy with more suggestion fellas, I don’t want to blow the first trifecta. @Wadda We Sing have your leathers ready!! Make sure you’re in the film clip
  13. That will work Macca. I’m still putting my hand up for the 4th contributor this week.
  14. Lol, I really should have boiled the kettle before typing
  15. Hi fellas. It was your idea @Macca, more than happy for you to have a selection for the win. I’m happy to be the 4th this week or maybe we can go with an emergency system. For example, Wadda, Macca, Binman place a selection for 1st which also goes in for 2nd and 3rd. That leaves 3 horses for 2nd and 3rd to be added, hope I’m getting this right. The same 3 people each pick a horse for the additional placegetters. If selections aren’t in say by 12.00pm on raceday in steps the emergency with their selection of a winner and additional placegetter. I hope that makes sense, long day at work today. Edit: Happy to run with the consensus.
  16. http://m.melbournefc.com.au/news/2018-04-16/dees-and-tigers-to-have-minib Both clubs have been given a break leading into the game. Is this a positive for us and is this a mandatory break due to the time between games? Both coaches don’t seem entirely thrilled with the concept.
  17. He’s a beauty Macca. No need to black book it as I’m sure you’ll be all over it when he returns. Placed more than half his starts at Group & Listed level, runs ok in the wet and maybe you have mentioned it previously but I wasn’t aware the horse started its career in NSW where it didn’t register a single win apart from a barrier trial. The move West certainly worked.
  18. I like your idea so much that I’ve looked at the possible fields for Saturday at Randwick. I’m guessing fields will be finalised in the next couple of days but the All Aged Stakes is shaping up as a really good race. http://racingaustralia.horse/FreeFields/Weights.aspx?Key=2018Apr21,NSW,Royal Randwick
  19. @Macca That’s where 3-4 brains working together can provide a name such as Miss Admiration. Only 3 lengths off the winner in the VRC Oaks. Like @Wadda We Sing suggested “Working From Home” was a decent chance of winning in a post early in the day on Saturday. Made mention of some money coming in for the horse due to the wet weather.
  20. Great suggestion Macca, I’m all for new suggestions and there’s definitely no harm in trying. It’s been difficult the last few weeks trying to find standouts, this way we can concentrate on a race or two and not having to worry about scouting far and wide.
  21. G’day Macca. Thanks for posting, this thread runs hot once a week unlike some of the other threads on the footy board, they will probably remain on fire for the next 8 days. Nice and calm over here, at least until I watch the Alizee race.
  22. Watched the Caps v Jackets game today. Thought Columbus were a sneaky chance to win the series but didn’t expect them to go back home 2-0 up. Will follow them closely as Artemi Panarin is one of my favourite players. Still gutted the Hawks traded him. Do you give the Kings any chance from 3-0 down?
  23. Maybe I am, so are a number of posters that placed a 6 next to Omac in the Votes thread.
  24. I’m quite positive that you don’t watch the games. Omac unnoticeable? He’s probably been the biggest positive this year in terms of improvement.
  25. This needs to be merged with the thread predicting our 10th place finish.
