Enjoyable game to watch. Argentina with almost 3/4 of the possession, around 5 times the amount of passes, more than double in shots, Messi alone had 10 goal attempts. Iceland looked very dangerous every time they attacked in the first half with their fast and precise passing. Agree with @Grapeviney, not a well hit penalty by Messi. This was the first game of the tournament so far that didnāt have a goal scored in the final 10 minutes. Early days but good for trivia night. Loving the reports @Diamond_Jim. Aussies unlucky in the end. The boos for Hernandez were coming through loud and clear. Sainsbury post match stated he wasnāt a fan of the VAR before and his mind hasnāt changed after today.

I was under the same impression Macca. VAR was comprehensive during the A-League season not only reviewing the play in question but also ruling on other infringements cited during the review such as players being sanctioned for pushing/holding behind the play. It seemed to me they went to VAR to confirm the handball but strangely forgot about the sanction.

Bizarre really. He didnāt even receive a yellow. Iāve seen red cards for less.

A Day at the Races
I really have to stop mentioning other horses when I nominate my āBestā. ? Apologies fellas, I missed the boat with āLiteān In My Veinsā.

A Day at the Races
Well done Macca. Love seeing the explosive turn of foot upon straightening by a front runner. That was very impressive on the 7 day backup. Could be a good guide for El Magnificence too. Only 1 length behind Miss Leonidas last week.

Iām so glad I set the alarm Macca. I even woke up my 10yr old son to watch it with me and he was thankful. Absolute treat to witness it.

Feeling a lucky day fellas. Sky racing is on in the background and noticed a horse won in the American trots by the name of Zephyr Kronos.

Best Bet: Moonee Valley. Race 8 Number 1 Liteān In My Veins $3.70 Racing in similar grade and I just had to choose this horse as a best after we mentioned it a few months ago. It will take the claim of 3kg and is probably worse off at the weights against āMy Nordic Heroā but was the strongest at the finish last start. I actually struggled the find one that stands out tomorrow. Tough day coming up so I went with a horse thatās in red hot form.- Watts Dropped from Port
Canāt argue with that DD. Carry on.- Watts Dropped from Port
Come on fellas, this is a thread about the omission of JW, not about Demonlanders ādroppingā one another.- A Day at the Races
Cool...Best Bets continue. The World Cup will give us plenty of practise with staying up late for the UK races.- A Day at the Races
Going early fellas. Number 2 Religify. TAB Odds: $7.50/$2.50 A work colleague knows the horse well through connections and was told the horse trialled really well last week. Tough on pacer and the tight Ipswich circuit will suit the horse. If the horse can cross without doing too much from the wide barrier it could be very hard for them to catch him. If he does do some work early the horse is still capable of hanging onto a placing. Also happy to have 2 more runs with the trifectas and then hitting the paddock for a while. Do we still continue with the āBest Betsā Macca?- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
Can only go by what I have seen on him at Casey and I canāt see that he will get a game this year unless we have some injuries up forward ( knocks on wood). He seems smart around goals and gets into good positions. Maybe the one year contract is based more on development like you said and easing into our system rather than the club expecting him to play several games in the AFL. Itās only an opinion and certainly wouldnāt be disappointed if he gets a game soon. Hope it works out for him.- A Day at the Races
Iām leaning towards the Eye Liner Stakes Macca. Might seem a trickier race than the other 2 but there are some horses that I think are terrific value.- Watts Dropped from Port
Seriously...do you want a bozo badge? You were one of the most vocal during the trade period with your repetitive posting about how useless he is. I notice you only jump on here with constant negativity. Good for you for feeling vindicated. They guy has left the MFC but you wait for moments like this to gloat. Well done.- The Soccer thread
Cheers. Enjoy it DJ. Hopefully the tournament produces some great contests. Did you try the souvlaki from Plaka during your time over there?- Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
Yep, Iām done too.....with this thread! Lewis was the least of our worries yesterday. This is heading down the same path as the thread titled āLewis Broken Handā. Some absolute carp on that and this isnāt far off.- A Day at the Races
āWire to Wireā for Justify @Macca. Way too classy for them in the end although the second placed horse āGronkowskiā chased valiantly. Great effort by the trainer....2 Triple Crowns in the last 4 years.- A Day at the Races
Cheers Macca, Iāll be up nice and early for the boyās soccer so Iāll be tuning in over breakfast. $1.75 fixed for āJustifyā on Tab. Have you seen better odds anywhere else?- A Day at the Races
Haha, Macca. Thatās gold! Oh yeah, the build up in all sports over there is something else. Showtime! I must admit I do enjoy some of their gimmicks, especially the projector shows on the ice in the NHL. Is the Belmont Stakes at 8.46am tomorrow?- A Day at the Races
Haha, Wadda. Mate said the horse had done everything right leading up to today. They werenāt too sure how it would go first-up but it was a very good return in the end. Shows a lot of ability this horse and you would think a win is not too far away.- A Day at the Races
Best Bet: Doomben Race4 No.5 Sedanzer TAB Odds: $2.90 Scone Cup winner two starts ago and a terrific finishing effort last start to place 3rd by less than 2 lengths. Dropping 2.5kg from last run and will carry 6kg less than Ambitious. Could be the difference if the track remains heavy. Stradbroke Trifecta Selection. Number 15 Perast. Odds- $7.00(W) $2.70(P) The horse has definitely found some form with 2 wins in a row. Coming in with a light weight and has to be a decent chance to run a place.- A Day at the Races
No biggie Macca. If the horse does gain a run Iāll be putting a few dollars each way on it at those odds and those races down the straight can throw a few bolters in the placings. A small trifecta or first 4 wouldnāt hurt. Mate is more excited about the horseās future.- A Day at the Races
Another scratching in the race Macca so one more needed for āEl Magnificenceā to gain a start. Mate is very excited about the horseās prospects. āDespatchā holding favouritism currently. - A Day at the Races
