CBDees is right. The MCC asks its members to nominate a team they support but that's for their own internal reasons - just a survey to profile their membership. Numbers don't count in the football membership tally.

I think most MCC members take out the discounted membership as a donation to the footy club and in turn score a scarf, car stickers, the usual stuff.

What is new this year is that if you take out a full MFC membership with your MCC membership then your football membership entitles you to take a guest into three games in the MCC reserve at no extra cost. Normally you would have to buy a guest ticket, costing around $40, to take a guest into the MCC. This applies only to five matches (the lower attending ones against Freo, North, Port, Saints and Brisbane) but if you use those bonus tickets for three of those matches you are almost all square (and popular with mates).

Wow why did I not know this? Is this for the regular MCC/MFC Membership ($79 option) or the Premium member ($200 option)?

Where can I find more info about this, looked on both membership sites.. and how do I claim my spare ticket? Have bought them for mates to all games thus far like v Freo

  2. Why is everyone hating on Jurrah? Had an extremely tough year on and off the field. Wants to live with his family where everything is stable and first and foremost, but also wants to play footy, So Port/Crows seem logical. Why all the negativity to a man who brought us many highlights in his short time, I'm just appalled and confused by the language being used from people who can hide behind their screens and abuse the man. I agree the AFL should compensate if we do not get anything in return if he transfers to another AFL club. Failure to see the whole picture, I wish him the best of luck for the future and for he's case outcome..

  3. When he resigned and didn't head home back up to QLD i was rapt. But this year either due to fitness, game plan, form and other reasons, he is one man i am missing in that forward line. Still remember the excitement he brought in round 1 against Sydney when he truly was the super-sub in the 4th qtr!

  4. Some innovation. I am not quite sure what it brings but I guess the coaching staff have some idea.

I also found it interesting that Tom McDonald was the man, or at least the first to have his footage go public. I suspect that they see his as someone important looking ahead.

As an aside I would like him to get some time at CHF later in the season, hopefully after the mids start getting some clearances - could have a future there.

PS: From the header, I thought that some new famous German guy, Helmut Cam, was at training :-)

I took part in a tour of the MFC facilities followed by a function all hosted by Chris Connolly. He brought up his name about 6 times, as the club highly rates him and is excited about the prospects of our back 6

  5. Heard this morning that Doc Peter Larkins said Jurrah out with a possible ankle break and badly damaged ligaments, faces 8-10 weeks on the sideline. Coupled with the pending charges, this has been the year from hell and he may have well played his last AFL game, lets hope not...

  6. I was pretty sick at the time and never actually watched this match, but watching it back this afternoon for the first time I found it pretty interesting.
