Delistings/trades at end of the season
Garland only goes if he decides to move on as a FA. He won't cost crazy $$ to keep & he's clearly rated as a required player by Roosy. Unlike Frawley we won't get overs or well compensated if he walks & I have it on good authority the club is confident he'll stay if we keep improving as other clubs pushing for finals are only offering small $ & a chance to play finals to him. If he won't break the bank & the club is confident he'll stay I see no benefit in the club pushing or moving him along. He's a long way off being lumped in with players of Riley, Michie, Bail's ilk, most clubs could find a place for Garland to do a job defensively each week. Anyone here who says otherwise is not being objective imo. His role every week is usually to shut down a bloke which he does very well, both tall, small & on dangerous resting midfielders. If Grimes or H could do it as well or better they'd already be getting those jobs ahead of Garland. Wow, never thought I'd be defending Garlo before, I'm not even a huge fan of his, but he does add value to the team imo..... Howe on the other hand.......

Plus the dud Neeld recruited from Geelong.....

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Newton alone has done just about as much as all 3 of those blokes Neeld recruited in a handful of games this year & he has only been going ok! These guys are a lot younger than Neeld's recruits & have a lot more upside to boot. Even if they don't make it they were better punts than what Neeld went for (which in fairness was mostly age based for experience but these guys had nothing left in the tank, unlike Cross who you also conveniently forgot about).

The 2014 AFL National Draft
Don't rate McCartin at all, he is no where near Hogan's level & there's way more upside in Wright, who I'm still not totally sold on. Saints are said to have put a LOT of work into McCartin & are saying they'll take Petracca (Finey, SEN), so if that is indeed true & their need for talls is probably greater than ours, then we will likely pass on him also I reckon. I just want the best in terms of overall talent as a player at both picks & trust our footy dep to get it right, first time I've said that in a long time! Brayshaw & Lever the best 2 talents imo if Petracca is off the board. In an uncompromisd draft we'd be talking about Heeney & Moore too......

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
I'm happy with the outlook on that deal, much prefer what we got, 2 likely b+/a graders & hunt, hope he comes good too.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
But he's right isn't he? Wasn't it actually picks 2 & 20 for Tyson & Salem? Whether they on traded that 2nd pick doesn't change what we traded. Very convenient people around here overlook that...... Mind you, I'm happy as with the deal, we got 2 class players that like more rough & tumble than what Kelly does, which is what we need!!
