  1. gary ablett is an absolute jet! 49 touches
  2. not every player is fast, trenners need to adapt
  3. Really warming to the idea of Choco coaching us, make it happen PJ! On a side note, i hear a rumour that mark bickley was another who was keen for the job and we wanted to interview, any thoughts on him? i'd be against any untried coaches as long as choco is around
  4. My concern is the only player in the draft that will interest the Bulldogs enough to offer him up is Boyd, and even that is a stretch
  5. Couldn't agree more, our new coach needs to get the boys excited, they're talented players, get a few wins and a few blokes might re-sign and the feeling can change very quickly, while i understand we have been awful this year, i don't agree with the perception we are in a deep dark hole that we can't escape, the right coach will get us playing much better football in 2014. That might not mean we play finals, but it may well mean that we have a reason to get excited about going to the games again, the boys get excited about their association with MFC, and Demonland might be a much nicer place haha.
  6. When Mark Neeld was sacked Craig said that he sat down and had a chat with PJ, i have thought that would have been PJ saying look our priority is a premiership coach, obviously he was still in with a shot but i'm sure he made Craig aware that if Roos for example signed tomorrow, he would start ASAP, i think we would be crazy to hire Williams without exploring all of our options however,
  7. Unfortunately i can't see any way we could convince Mathews, a coaching panel with Williams, Ayres, craig and Ling would be fantastic though!
  8. I think we are a big chance in this game and the Lions know it! hoping Kent plays as sub, not sure he's up to full games yet, but viney may not have the match fitness yet
  9. I wouldn't mind Ayres as an assistant, not sure about senior coach though.
  10. Fair enough that they would be upset at that, but it seems fairly unprofessional that we would tell someone we are going to draft them, i thought most teams liked to keep options open, then again MFC has been abit unprofessional for a while.
  11. In theory yes, but Craig is doing alright, it would mean he could start planning his trade and draft plans and things like that early
  12. i think burns will coach brisbane or wce next year, we have our four candidates
  13. what do you think his currency would be? i'd offer fitz and a second rounder for sloan and a 3rd rounder or something like that, fitz would give them the forward/ruck that they need and a second round draft pick would get them involved at least.
  14. It's terrible, players will leave good teams for a better pay day, then they will leave the bad teams for good teams to play in a flag before they retire, it's going to be very hard to as you say emotionally invest in a club or players when it's changing every year, kids don't get to see a player as their hero because he might play two years at a team and then take off.
  15. Yeah i agree, such a close competition an extra game or two might be the difference later in the year, but perhaps after the grand final? we are heading for an NBA like comp with players bouncing from club to club, loyalty going out the window for most if a bigger pay day is offered, i suppose in a sense this is why i have enjoyed being a Dees supporter of late because when we do win you see that raw passion and emotion that seems to be missing on the most part ;/
  16. After watching tonight, i would love to see the AFL introduce something similar, i understand they have all but ruled it out but i still can't help but think of how good it would be to see the best playing together and against each other. any thoughts?
  17. might regret these comments in five years time if he becomes as good as most of us think he will.
  18. I used to love watching the crows under craig, really good game plan, defense was amazing at times.
  19. His biggest issue was he didn't get the pace of AFL right away, not an uncommon issue and he is finally getting that and showing us why the club has considered him to be a better prospect than some really good players ( stringer, vlastian, wines, mcrae, menzel )
  20. You could argue that Roos stringing us along is hurting his brand? he portrays himself as a very honest and loyal sort of guy, and he is either lying to the public or at best misleading and does want to coach us, or he is leaving the door ajar on purpose because it somehow fuels his ego that we are chasing him. either way i think the fact we are chasing the best coach so hard balances it out, we are finally showing we are serious about becoming a force in the comp again.
  21. I would love for the club to at least come out and give us an honest account for where Mitch is at, give us a chance to brace ourselves for the worst or put the doubt to rest.
  22. Yeah i think mine is pretty similar, would like to see us Re-sign Watts Sylvia Gawn and offer extensions to Frawley ( 3 years) and Hogan (5 years)
  23. Agree, i would not be impressed if he left after we have put a huge amount of faith into him, i can understand the club probably see's Sylvia, watts and co as priority but still.
  24. Surely this is a joke? Trenners is 22 and had more than his fair share of injuries, Garland in my opinion is an All Australian quality versatile defender, Toumpas and kent are both young but show promise, as does clisby allthough he is a raw talent at this stage
