  1. I hope he turned up to training, with that sort of resilience he'd probably get a run against the saints.
  2. that's right, why keep a player who doesn't want to be at your club, you want blokes committed to your cause for the right reasons, not just that you matched their preferred sides offer.
  3. I don't think there is one this year, Bryce Gibbs is probably not the right type of player, i reckon we collect the compo pick which will probably be pick 4 or 5 and offer both our top picks up for trade, another couple of deals like the Tyson to GWS one will have us looking better and with the Key position targets at the top end the high picks will be more appealing to sides
  4. Surely the formula should just use an average pay over the four years of his contract, not the lowest pay of a front loaded contract, that's just insane, he is in the top 25% just not this year because of how we decided to pay him
  5. Top four: Hawthorn, Fremantle, Sydney, Adelaide Premier: Hawthorn Runner-up: Sydney Wooden spoon: St Kilda Moving up: West coast Set to fall: Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon Brownlow Medal: Jack Zeibel Coleman Medal: Roughead 81 NAB AFL Rising Star: Jack Viney Coach of the year: Ross Lyon Headline you'll see: Pressure mounting on mick Malthouse Headline you won't see: Jack Trengove wins grand final sprint Can Gold Coast make the finals? would need alot of luck, next year. How many goals will Buddy kick? 61 How many wins will Paul Roos lead the Dees to? 7 Will James Frawley stay at Melbourne? Yes Dees B&F: 1.Bernie Vince 2.Nathan Jones 3. Dom Tyson Dees best first year player: Jay Kennedy-Harris Dees leading goalkicker: Jeremy Howe 43 Jesse Hogan 31 Chris Dawes 22 Kennedy Harris 20
  6. I suppose an example is in 2005, Collingwood went for Scott Pendelbury and Dale Thomas, both skinny lads, when there were other ready to go players, and as a result they won a premiership in 2010, and nearly another in 2011, so the junk yard dog as you say isn't always the right way to go, sometimes patience works just as well, the obvious difference being they had a much better culture, development and recruiting team than we have had previously but still.
  7. if we take the club at it's word they should be playing together by round 5, but i seriously doubt it
  8. Not really related to chippa but i reckon we will be chasing Nick Smith, Swans player who wants to come back to victoria
  9. hopefully Georgiou will be able to keep him quiet
  10. Hugh Goddard and if Chip leaves Sam Durdin with the compo
  11. jesus, that second one will haunt me for a long time, Dangerfield was a victorian boy too!
  12. He is playing the best footy of his career so i'd like him to stay, but if he leaves i won't be upset either, much more concerned with what his mate in number 8 does
  13. I'd be shocked if we didn't get band 1 compensation, if he leaves he is looking at 700 k and at least 4 years
  14. I reckon Dunn will stick around, mostly because i can't see any other team being that interested
  15. His contract was apparently very front loaded and when you factor in the sort of money Dawes, Clark, Watts, Grimes Jones and Howe are on it's not all that surprising, nomatter what he does at the end of 2014 i imagine he will be earning at least twice as much
  16. If he is unrestricted we still get compo but he can walk without us being able to match the offer.
  17. Exactly, then when Wines was not as effective in a much worse side we could have rattled on about how we should have taken Toumpas because we already had to many inside mids.
  18. I think at the very least they would be run by the coach, in terms of drafting the recruiters have all the information i imagine the coach would give them a profile of what they are after and they'd stick as closely to that, in Neelds case it was best available player
  19. What's this potential norm smith medallist nonsense, every player in the comp right now is a potential norm smith medallist I get you mean he is a big game player but there are plenty of those out there, Jimmy Toumpas is one of them.
  20. Yeah things seem to work like that around here, i too would be happy with half as good, a consistant 200 gamer would be plenty for me, and i see no reason that can't happen
  21. That's fine, but what says Toumpas won't because he was quiet in his first year? sure if in 3 years he's done nothing then we have this convo for now we really have no idea the only consistant knock i am hearing is that he's apparently abit soft, i remember hearing the same knocks on Gary ablett jr in his first two years
  22. Bloke wasn't averaging 25 touches a game in his first year, delist him. seriously? Wines is playing well good for him, the fact Wines had a better first year doesn't make any difference to us, he plays for Port, Viney and Toumpas will be fine, they have Roos and Stone developing them and they both have talent, you don't get rated that highly for no reason.
  23. Great football person and a great bloke, heart goes out to his family!
  24. Do we have a practice match or intra club this week?
  25. Roos said he would make Rawlings fill the role of senior assistant for 2014, i'd say that's a decent head start
