  1. If we were to look to replace Chip via the draft Durdin would be the obvious choice for mine did anyone else on here watch on the couch this week? Michael Turner saying Hugh Goddard is on par with Luke Hodge as the best two prospects to come out of the Geelong Falcons in his opinion, could very easily prove to be a bargain pick, was rated top 5 besides his poor champs
  2. I think a huge part of it is the list, would Horse, Buckley or Chris Scott have been able to do anything with our list? Would Neeld, Bailey and Watters faired better if they were hired by Geelong or Sydney when Horse and Scott took over? it's always a big gamble, I think more and more coaches are going to become hesitant to apply for jobs at lower teams
  3. I really hope the bombers miss finals, it would be a shame if a more deserving team missed out only for the bombers to receive bans and so on just when it becomes too late.
  4. Kirk will be the successor in my opinion, Ling will be a development coach.
  5. Roosy has a different view of watts to the demonland posters. What would a premiership coach know
  6. Maybe Lingy could bring in the first all ginger coaching group?
  7. Exactly, players to target... You can target a player a year out. It doesn't say players to recruit for 2015. I'm sorry I made the suggestion.
  8. You asked why I mentioned it, I answered, didn't say I would do it, just that I believe he is gettable and why I don't believe it is out of place on this thread.
  9. Also a pretty handy leader, communicator, personality for coaching.
  10. as i'm sure you are aware free agency targets are established and the lines of conversation are opened earlier and earlier, the end of this year and start of next year would be a good time to start considering Scott, his contract is up in 2016, so at the end of 2015, if Collingwood look like losing him the next year because say the MFC have a deal they can't match on table they will have to consider a trade. I would have no issue with the club going to Scott and saying that at the end of next year there is a very good contract on offer for you to join the club. it's no different to Hawthorn targeting Cotchin or Dangerfield
  11. Because I think we should target the best players in the AFL when they become available while we have massive salary cap space, I am out of my mind, wanting to have a half decent side for once, shame on me.
  12. Look that's your opinion, I have a different view, I think when Scott's current contract is up, he is very gettable,
  13. So you don't believe any player has, or will anytime soon change clubs because of money. Gary Ablett Brendan Goddard Tom Scully Rhyce Palmer Callan ward Dale Thomas Mitch Clark Lance Franklin Pendels grew up a Dees supporter, and the nature of free agency is going to be that you either move for money or you move for success. maybe Pendels is a long shot, but so was Roosy.
  14. Kirk for me is a far better option than either, he has 3 years of assistant coaching under his belt already, before that played in a premiership under Roosy, knows the game plan and culture we are aiming for inside out.
  15. In a suggestion thread about players we could potentially target, absolutely, and I don't see the issue with that, does not say it has to realistic in the thread title, if you don't like the suggestion simply pass over it.
  16. Reimers has had a big part to play in the case against the bombers imo,
  17. Jack watts and Jimmy toumpas have 20 contested possessions and 10 tackles each in a game
  18. Whitfield signed a long term deal last year I believe
  19. Mitchell imo is ahead of zac Jones and Brandon Jack, the swans clearly think he needs to work on an area of his game and he is developing that in the seconds
  20. I Reckon that's a good idea, the top of the draft doesn't inspire me any more than the teens, the trade you suggested to the suns I think would be a huge win for both parties, if we could get that done with the frawley compo and add perhaps Corey Ellis and Lachie Weller, a couple of players who I think will be solid B+ for 200 games, Ellis has a really good left foot and can create off half back, Lachie has a really good turn of pace, but is also more than capable of winning the inside ball, the beauty of the paul roos game plan is every pick doesn't have to be a superstar, the player just have to be able to play a consistant role for the team
  21. bang on, unless a deal was offered up that meant us getting Dangerfield for Toumpas and a pick I would be shocked if he isn't with us next year and beyond
