I thought that after a certain amount of players are found guilty the club too had to be punished? seemed like it was all but certain both club and players were going to cop it

i'm not 100% sure but i was under the impression that Martin wanted to leave and that was a big driving factor behind the trade, keeping him may not have been an option?

Tdi, the beauty of swimming is it removes the impact/ jarring that you get from running, it sounds to me like the game plan involves everyone's running levels to be much higher than last year and the club wants them to be cherry ripe in that sense. Both the lads can play the fitness is something the whole club needed to improve

Not sure losing col was initially what roosy wanted king, I think he worked pretty hard to keep him. Glad it worked out for us though

Agree, i'm thinking lifetime bans from the AFL for Hird, Dank and whoever else was heavily involved if found guilty but i'd go as far as minimum 12 month bans for players backdated to the date of the infraction notices, if all that's been said in the media is true these players must have had suspicions something wasn't right long before the investigation even started.

http://www.sen.com.au/news/a-short-sharp-ban-is-the-most-appealing-outcome I disagree strongly, the situation is simple, if this club has cheated than it needs to man up and cop what's coming to it, they have fought the investigation ever step of the way, Robbo and his media team have carried out a media campaign trying to discredit and paint ASADA as the big bad wolf and Essendon as innocent victims. The league needs to be very strong on the fact that Illegal or performance enhancing drug use is unacceptable under any circumstances and cannot go soft on anyone for it, much less this club who has appealed the legality of the investigation once, while it's coach has twice. If they are found guilty is important that the punishment is not reflective of what is best for the EFC, or for the League in terms of getting them back on the field ASAP, it needs to send a message, and i suspect ASADA and WADA are hell bent on making sure that happens.

Was told today by an essendon supporting mate he is led to believe the club has been told a guilty verdict is More likely than not hense the sense of urgency to get the full in players over the line.

Just out of curiosity, if essendon lodge their list of 44 or whatever ińc top up players and the players only get banned for half the season presumably they would have to sit out the season anyway because the list has already been lodged?

Spoke to a mate about this tonight and he says he heard asada told the players they would get a guarenteed free pass if they gave them something to implicate Hird or dank, obviously I don't know how true that is but it makes sense they'd be desperate to get the big fish in this whole mess.

If the fact essendon clearly got rid of records isn't enough to build a case around I'd be shocked. Essendon weren't as desperate as they were to have asadas evidence thrown out for no reason, why appeal if they were super confident of winning anyway.

It's not so much of an issue with skinny kids because they can really hit the gym and build their upper body while in rehab, Christian is already there in that sense, just needs to be really patient and treat it as an opportunity to build character, every situation provides an opportunity ity to grow.
