  1. This attitude is part of the cultural change, we may be huge long shots but the club needs to believe we can win every game to be great again, I think the club thinks it can beat good teams if things go right for us, but belief is something else entirely and something I haven't seen in our club since rev was coach and a bloke called neitz captained
  2. Trent Mckenzie, Charlie Dixon and Brandon matera would be good, straight swap for jack watts and a pack of skittles?
  3. a quality ruckman is something we desperately need, Jamar has been servicable but look at the difference Mumford is making to the giants
  4. Agree totally, and i think Brendan Mcartney can take a lot of credit for it,
  5. he played against the Giants also, competed really strongly and kicked a couple of goals
  6. And alot like the Essendons football clubs defense during the whole saga, mindless arm waving totally void of any facts or significant arguments to back up their position.
  7. 2013 - 2 wins 56% 2014 - 4 wins 82% we are coming from the very bottom of the barrel, the doggies were about where we are now, so that's in perspective a decent head start on where we were when Roos took over
  8. They were never fooling anyone besides their own supporters, i still firmly believe they will be hit hard by both WADA and Worksafe over this and following that the players would have to seriously consider legal action against the club. if they walk away from this it would be close to the greatest failure in Australian sports history.
  9. Very similar to what took place at Port happening at the doggies, highly turbulent off season, leads to some quality appointments leads to a rise up the ladder no one thought they were capable of, especially without Libba we're coming from alot further back though, our real rise will come when guys like Salem and Brayshaw get up towards the 50 games mark and start being able to impact games of footy consistently,
  10. Jumbo source is josh Mahoney saying " we feel we are in a strong position financially to retain our emerging talent and bring in a top end player into the club in the next few years " Combined with the play for Dangerfield last year
  11. We've got the cap room to offer him a monster deal, Sam frost and Dom Tyson to get In his ear and we have shown clear improvement so far this year so his addition would be a big one In our push for finals 2016 so I think Shiel is gettable. Would love Dixon as well thoug! Dream off season
  12. For me, Dylan Shiel is target 1. But I think the natural progression of our midfield plus introducing petracca and Trengove back into the mix will mean we will improve in that area anyway I'm concerned Dawes can't kick enough goals to be more than a third tall forward/ ruck so Dixon would be a great fit in that sense
  13. Not 100% sure of his trade value but I assume he wouldn't be at the top of the Suns retain list with Ablett, Martin, omeara, swallow, Bennell, lynch, kolo, Prestia and co
  14. OOC at years end, would be a really good foil for Jesse Hogan, already has two bags of 6 goals to his name, capable of pinch hitting in the ruck someone we might have an interest in?
  15. I am pretty concerned about the match up for Tippett, pretty confident with Tommy Mac being able to stop Buddy though
  16. Positive: jimmy can get the ball.. Negative: he can't seem to do anything with it. to me that suggests that alot of his issues are probably related to confidence, the belief he can do more than a ten meter chip pass, and that he can run and carry and actually create for his team. i'd say his stats are almost totally irrelevant until he can show a capacity to use the ball with more impact
  17. The day Essendon can display what they took and that it wasn't banned is the day I'll consider viewing them In any other way, But they won't do it, what went on in 2012 was clearly the greatest failure by any club in AFL history and they couldn't even keep records of it
  18. T&w Our coach is on 1.5 mil a year I would be willing to say Goodwin and mcartney would be doing alright As well Not all that underfunded these days
  19. I find it a little bit amusing for a club that was so determined for the " truth to come out " they haven't been in a hurry to release it. for me it should be as simple as no records = guilty.
  20. I think the doggies are on basically the path Roos wants to take us on, he's building the basis of the plan on contest, defense and aggression, which is very similar to what i feel Mcartney was doing at the dogs, so when he left they were pretty good in that area and now Beveridge has added the attacking side of things to the plan and they look fantastic i think we're doing the same thing, Roos is setting the core values of the team and what we want to build around as a foundation and Goodwin will bring more attacking flair to layer on top of it.
  21. A couple of the points i'd make about the selection process is 1. was the club concerned about their image due to previous stuff ups in the draft, took Toumpas because he was more highly rated and by extension seen as a safer choice despite possibly prefering Wines as a player? if we took Wines when a more highly rated player was available and he didn't come on it'd be seen as MFC making the same mistakes and not learning from them? same principal as we couldn't take a chance on an untried coach after Neeld, couldn't take risks 2. was Toumpas slipping through to pick 4 by design, as good as Hogan is i believe, 3, 13 and whatever we paid to get him was overs, was a handshake deal to see Toumpas slide past GWS part of the deal? 3. was the recruiting staff overruled by Mark Neeld who clearly rated Toumpas, publicly we were linked to Wines all year, so no doubt he was choice number 2 but i'd love to know if Todd, or Neeld pushed the case for Toumpas over Wines point three is highlighted by our recruiting since Neeld left, we have taken Christian Salem, Angus Brayshaw, Christian Petracca, Neil Bullen, Vandenberg, Newton all of which are quality inside players, hard at it and very good tacklers, Kennedy-Harris and Stretch have been bought in at later picks to provide speed but the fundamental approach to recruit ball winners has totally changed
  22. Missed my point totally mate, Todd knew Ollie for many years before the draft, best friends with Jack and the way he is going at AFL level i seriously doubt would surprise him, and then you have Jake Stringer, Jackson McRrae, Troy Menzel, Sam Mayes all very talented young players even Brodie Grundy would have been a good selection i'm curious why Toump is the one he chose, remember between Taylor and Todd they have hardly missed a selection, even Matt Jones, Terlich and the mature age guys have made an impact, but Toump is really struggling to impact games, i'd love to know the reason why they didn't pick Wines, the club themselves said publicly they were excited by the prospect of setting up the engine room for the next decade with Viney, Wines and Jones i argued against this move because i had and still have concerns that our midfield is too one paced and we lack outside class in a big way, and i still have faith the Toump will make it as a player under the guidance of Roos, Mcartney and Goodwin but i'd love to know the reason for the selection because i'm sure it wasn't what the media draft experts thought that made the decision for todd.
  23. Was it Rory Sloane who we told we'd draft then took Jamie Bennell instead?
  24. Is he wrong? you can't seriously think they wouldn't be far more concerned about this situation if they were about to play Freo and Sydney? Melbourne is in the process of winning some respect now, we were lucky to not be beaten by 100 plus points on the weekend though, and Hawthorn are as good or better than the dockers
  25. God if not wines, why not McRae or stringer?
