  1. From what i've seen/heard next years draft looks significantly stronger than this years so i am extremely comfortable with missing this years first round if it means giving up next years, the only way i can see us realisitically geting a first rounder this year is if Hogan walks out.
  2. I really like the idea, he's won a best and fairest and been an All Australian in the last couple of years but his knee has halted him a little but if he can get going again he'd be a huge pick up, experienced leader and would take a heap of pressure of Tommy Mac, i'd certainly be very keen if he was interested and at the right price.
  3. Nathan Hrovat is rumoured to be looking for a new club, he's highly rated by Macca who drafted him and would come very much on the cheap, and while he's probably not best 22 he's won a rising star nomination and has some ability, i personally think he'd be as good an investment as most 3rd-4th round picks and would be well worth considering, i've also heard the Dogs want an experienced key defender for next season and Dunn is on the list, while he isn't their first preference i wonder if there is any chance of swapping them over.
  4. I think the Suns will clearly want an established player for O'meara, are the Hawks really willing to give up someone like Shiel or Issac Smith? I suspect they'll offer their first pick and someone like Hartung
  5. I think we'll see a significant difference, Roosy wasn't really a senior coach, more a football dept coach, we now have our house in order and a coach with the energy to invest in being a full time long term senior coach and it's that bloody exciting
  6. My info is different and from a source i very much trust but it's not really relevant because Prestia will be a Tiger. Very happy to have Oliver, really think he could be the best of our young midfielders
  7. we definitely chased Prestia and Dangerfield, a trade not coming together doesn't mean we didn't try, or the club wasn't confident. we were VERY confident we'd get Prestia until the godfather offer from the Tigers.
  8. I'm not interested in getting into your issues with GNF's posting, i enjoy his posts, if others don't that's fine. the way he worded it made it sound to me as though if that eventuates Fyfe would be on board with moving.
  9. How does Nat Fyfe feel about all this? can't imagine him being keen on coming to the MFC
  10. He'd wanna get very used to the idea of wearing Red and Black
  11. I would say it's far more likely that Hogan just hasn't made up his mind, if Hogan had told Freo he wants to go there it would be all over the press, Freo are desperate for something to sell to their members after this year.
  12. Pretty Dramatically. would expect we'd be adding a couple of first rounders and a player potentially and that would give us far more scope to trade If this happened and we got Freo's 2017 first rounder it could be an okay result because next years draft crop is supposed to be strong and i'd expect them to finish bottom 6 again
  13. I get what you mean, they're just extremely rare, there are 17 other clubs who would love that type of player and maybe 2-3 league wide I really think we just need to invest in Petracca and he'll fill that role for us.
  14. Alex Neal Bullen and pick 45 to the Port Adelaide for pick 27 Pick 26 to Essendon for Michael Hibberd. Pick 27 for Eric Mackenzie Col Garland & future second round pick to Brisbane for pick 24 ish ( future pick Collingwood traded for James Aish ) Jetta Mackenzie O'mac Hibberd Mcdonald Hunt Salem Tyson Vince Petracca Hogan Kent Watts Weiderman Garlett Gawn Jones Viney Brayshaw, Oliver, Harmes, Melksham
  15. If the Suns think he's worth two top 10 picks then i will be very interested to see what the Hawks think they have to give up for him.
  16. I would understand the dissapointment from their perspective if he left now, they've been extremely patient with him over a long period of time given his injury history and he's been paid extremely well the entire time, i do think what Brayshaw said was a reflection of that frustration and probably a good indication that Wells is either out the door already or they strongly suspect he will be very soon.
  17. People make it sound so easy lol recruit a dangerfield type, explosive dominant goal kicking midfielder outside of Danger himself, Robbie Grey and maybe Jake Stringer there aren't many players around capable of doing what Danger can do.
  18. I think Mackenzie, experienced key defender who has been an all australian centre half back in the last couple of years, we really lack for experience all over the ground but especially there, would take pressure off Tommy McDonald and i think he'd be a fantastic get for the club. I am not as keen on the older mid like Dal Santo if our 2017 first rounder could land Hartlett and Port cover some of the salary i'd be open to that as well
  19. I am really confident with how our midfield is building we have an elite inside mid group Jones, Viney, Tyson, Brayshaw, Oliver and some quality outside players coming on Hunt, Stretch, Vince Petracca Kent ect so really development is the key the beauty of our side is we have Max Gawn so we're going to win it out of the middle a lot of the time, especially as we improve, so it gives us the opportunity to play a clearance game and not need the speed quite as much as teams that might not have the same dominance out of the middle.
  20. I am pretty sure they would do the exit interviews of guys like Jesse right away, obviously he isn't going to play for Casey and his family is in Perth, so i reckon it's probably been done already or is in the next few days
  21. Exactly, but Hartlett is on about 800k a year, unless Port want to pay at least half that i wouldn't go anywhere near him.
  22. Nooooooooooooooooooo..... Burgoyne was regarded as one of the best clearance players in the comp and a good clearance player back then despite being more inconsistant, Hartlett is very much an outside midfielder trying to play an inside role that doesn't suit him, i think Hamish is an icing on the cake type player and if Port were to pay half his wage and it wasn't a huge trade i wouldn't be against him, but he's not in the same class as Burgoyne, he needs a strong group of inside mids to feed the ball out to him and allow him to use his weapons
  23. It's really dissapointing in my opinion that Jobe hasn't handed the Brownlow back, he's a leader of the club and supposed to be one of the best 18 leaders in the AFL players ranks, if he doesn't know what he took then he needs to set the example sorry jobe but not being 100% sure what you took = not being 100% sure that you didn't cheat = hand the medal back and give it to those who are sure they didn't
  24. It's no wonder Jesse has struggled in the back end of the year, all the pressure of the footy world, being out of form and struggling to kick set shots, his old man not being well on the other side of the country and not really being able to go and be with him. I can tell you this, if Jesse came out tomorrow and said i want to move to Perth, i would lose zero respect for him, i've been through that sort of thing myself, it's hell so Jesse should do what's best for him and i think the majority of Dees supporters while disappointing would get it completely. So long as it's the best thing for Jesse and the club gets well compensated via a trade,
