Has always amazed me how international soccer teams can deal with the two leg matches across continents.
In October 2017 I went down to Melaka to watch the Socceroos play Syria in a play off to make the world cup. Syria had based itself in Malaysia for that years campaign due to the war in their own country. Few of its players were playing in international leagues so they had been here a while.
Members of the Australian team flew in from all around the world 2 days before the game. As usual the temperature was 32-34 and the humidity in excess of 70%. The pitch was not lawn but more like very rough buffalo grass.
Australia drew that first leg 1-1 that night and then two days later were playing the return leg in a very cold Sydney. They won and were off to Russia.
AFL players have it easy

think the whole 100k still comes off soft cap for fd regardless of who pays
the players can pay the club the 75k but the cap is still reduced
?
It's still a soft cap.. just a "tax" consequence
For a club like Richmond etc it's $1 per member
Take it out of the salary cap.... now that could be a penalty

I think the $25k was for **checks with AFL Media** Trent Cotchin's wife's Spa Day.
Yep it was the suspended part of that fine

Must say I was thinking the same thing

Yes I guess it’s planning on the fly . Are they charter flights ?
It was stuff up as the flight timing was cost neutral:
The costs of flying to Cairns would usually be paid by the AFL who would in turn be paid by Qld Govt for putting on a game in Cairns.
Swans would have had a half empty plane so no reason we couldn't go with them.
The plane carrying Freo would be half empty but the fact remains you still needed the two flights as presumably three teams cannot fit on the one plane.
Then there is the cost of an extra 2-3 nights accommodation...not that great in the scheme of things.
Only a little thing but it's little things that make the difference between winning and losing and we stuffed up again

Perhaps they needed to run it past their "editor"

Looks like they're gone.....
Should they be sent home to Melbourne, as seems highly likely, this would leave the Tigers without two players, albeit Stack did not play against Fremantle on Wednesday night. It is a situation that is more fraught for the AFL than even the Tigers.

The issue here is that the Swans had 2-3 days on us including training on the ground.
These are the things that you expect Pert and Mahoney to fix.
Picture what Eddie etc would have done
PS Gil probably needed the jet to fly his mates to Brisbane
Hell... we could have crowd funded the cost of the flight for the team!!!

How so?
But even then, even if no breeze, we kicked a solitary goal in a whole quarter, which is poor.
And I guess if the breeze has dropped, there should be no impediment to us kicking 4 in the final quarter, right?
Gusting to 45kph at start now down to 17kph
Northern trade winds always drops off with dusk

our percentage is higher and they are one round ahead.
The equation hasn't changed...need to win ten games which means we need to win the next three
PS a loss by the Eagles makes it almost certain that we would play them in Perth if we made the eight
