  1. Is Cody Weightman ok? By the looks of that footage he just got shot in the goal square.
  2. Yeah, I found that so annoying when I was in Europe earlier in the year. I paid the money in the end (and watched us get rolled by Essendon from sunny Belfast). They are literally gauging fans who are away for a couple of weeks.
  3. Ease up there. Hurley was at the end of his career, and so once he missed an entire year and lost so much weight and conditioning it was always going to be hard to come back. Clayton had an infection, and is due to come home Sunday - which indicates that medically he’s progressing well. Let’s not catastrophise. He’ll be back in 2 games.
  4. Prefer June to September.
  5. Sydney look horrible around the ball. I know Parker is out but they look a mess.
  6. There’s 4 umpires - but none of them are instructed to stand on the boundary side. It means they ALL don’t see the same missed free kicks every week. What makes it worse is that those are free kicks that are seem by literally everyone else at the ground.

  8. It’s like Sydney have never played on the SCG before.
  9. This is the worst quarter for kicking I think I’ve ever seen.
  10. It’s just some antibiotics. Everyone calm down. Who amongst us hasn’t woken up on a Monday morning in need of a jab, and then bounced back to be out again on the Friday night?
  11. Petty back in 1-2 matches the timeline we heard when it happened. I’m not worried. Get him right and he makes us better. Bad news for TMac, but BBB is on the runway awaiting take off.
  12. Not enough Alonzo’s in the AFL. Takes a hanger on the wing, and the members rise as one ‘Lonzooooooooooo!’
  13. Clarrie didn’t train today. Any idea why?
  14. That’s very interesting. Something tells me we are priming for this week.
  15. I hate Collingwood supporters, but on September 25th 2021 I promised myself I’d never miss another Melbourne game I could get to. If we lose it’ll be horrible, but if we win -god help them all.
  16. I have a ticket to Mondays game, but am willing to swap it for a tour through Europe. DM me if interested.
  17. We wouldn’t lose too many games when May and Lever are both in the votes.
  18. Very good footage of Lever on First Crack tonight essentially denying Curnow the ball all game on Friday night. The big takeaway was that while all the talk will be about our lack of scoring the bigger story should be the way we defended as a team. Had some great footage of Chandler taking the initiative to set everyone up too.
  19. The most important ex Dee at another club is Darren Burgess.
  20. Collingwood got beaten in 2 of their 3 finals last year playing this exact game plan. Melbourne lost both finals and we justifiably have a question mark on us. Port Adelaide’s most important players haven’t played finals, and they looked horrible on the G a couple of months back. Brisbane away from Brisbane are always 50/50. Geelong can’t afford to make a single mistake from here, and you have to question their desire given their aging list got their flag. This is a very open season. It will come down to who does the hard work week in and week out, and who can keep their best players on the park and playing well in September. My money is on Melbourne. Our defensive game plan holds up, our best players are equal or better than any other teams, and, most importantly, I really, really want to see us win a flag in person.
  21. Essendon would only have beaten 2 teams today - and they got one of them. Their defensive transition and work without the ball has been horrible. Im so annoyed we lost to them.
  22. I hate watching footy at Docklands. The ball zips around and bounces in a way that it just doesn’t anywhere else. No wind, never greasy, always fast. It feels like a hybrid version of the game. I also reckon in the long run it’s a disadvantage to the teams based there.
  23. Gees that was a good game.
  24. Set him up nicely to kick that last one @DubDee
  25. Watched the replay in full this morning. Some observations… Our kicking from set shots was the only thing that kept the game even remotely close. We dominated the game everywhere but on the scoreboard. Van Rooyen is going to be an absolute gun. He looks really confident at this level now. Tracc was a class above. Sparrow played his best game for us for 18 months. McVee is all class. Tomlinson didn’t get killed by McKay, they sacrificed their entire forward structure to isolate him and exploit that option. If you think that Curnow and McKay kicked 3 between them you’d take that everyday. I was at the G Friday night, but the commentary on TV did everything they could to make it seem like Carlton were in the game even when we had full control. We just didn’t finish off the work in front of goal. There’s a bloke coming in next week who might be the best player we’ve had for 40 years. Aside from that the sky is falling, obviously.
