My favourite thing about Anzac Day is that a team I hate always lose.

I found Maysie’s interview post game such an interesting example of modern day coaching. He said that at half time Goodwin had a laugh with them about how bad the kicking had been, and told them to improve their fundamentals. 15 years go that was screaming, and fire and brimstone.

He was just Clayton. He’s a bit of a left of centre thinker, and he’s honest, almost to a fault. He’s been handling himself extremely well, and I think he should be really proud of himself. The AFL has the downfield rule wrong. There’s an incentive to push a player in the back as they are kicking. It’s gives your defence time to set up. It makes no sense.

This is weak from Port. Really bad.

Ratugolea, Aliir, Zerk-Thatcher - they all look like big blokes, and they can all do athletic things, but the basics allude them too often.
