hope we keep playing him in the forward line in the NAB rounds to see if he can consistently make a presence. Creating space is important, but a different strategy is needed against other teams. He must still be able to provide good one on one contests and win his own ball. Who was he matched on against Richmond? . IE was it their number 1,2,3,or 4 defender? Who was it he was taking off the play?

Haven't heard of the Chaos Theory obviously.

It is getting difficult to contain this thread but I am beginning to disagree with the title. Abbott is not an embarrassment more an irrelevancy. If his genuine call on closing the gap is as as quoted as serious as stopping the boats, does this mean it will now be subject to operational secrecy and we will no longer hear of what happens on any matters involving indigenous affairs? His comments on economics are being disregarded as investors line up to take over the reported $130 billion assets that the government will give away so we can build some roads. While the government finances another royal commission into union activities, financial advisers are given free rein to exploit their influence. The government will cut red tape, green tape and ABC recording tape to ensure there is no impediment to the pursuit of their policies. Fortunately the previous government passed so much legislation that can now be concentrated on to be removed they do not have to have any positive polices to pursue. Any announcements made verbally can be ignored as Abbott has said himself until they are seen in writing and then they can be interpreted only as he understands them. I am waiting Joe's budget in the hope that somewhere along the line the economic resurgence that they indicated will begin . I know that the previous government left us in such a poor position that our economy was the envy of the rest of the world who saw that our assets and economic strategies were sufficient to pay a public debt which was minor figure compared to themselves and private investors were eager to continue to invest in a country where they could exploit our structures to their own advantage if only they could get the government to cease intervening and making them responsible for their actions Every thing is now coming together nicely, we just need to ensure that our labour market is populated with people grateful to work with conditions that match the labourers of Asia while our defence forces are built up to secure us from external and internal threats that we will manufacture to justify that build up. Meanwhile our miners will continue to export our natural resources ensuring they make enough profit to satisfy their investors who will now be eagerley awaiting the sale of more assets which will be given away. How long can we withstand this farce? The above is not considered rational or correct but neither are the actions of my government could just be irrelevant.

Being neither a Green nor Labour member and in fact supporter of neither of their total policies.I am not asking for the government to reveal its secrets. And certainly don't want the safety of Australian officials jeopardised. I understand that some information might be necessary to be witheld to undertake secure operations. However the acknowledgement that Australian officials are processing at sea ( a quicker and more effective process) and that this has resulted in X number of boats turned back would probably do more to disuade further migrants. I dont see this as being affected by the media cycle or How Q&A would impact. If the policy / practice taken by my government is working then I would like to know that. If it is breaching any laws or accepted conditions I would also like to know that. I do give a damn about all the rest of it and especially worry when public servants believe that they can do whatever they like without reference to or scrutiny from the public.

While I am an individual and independant I am also a member of the demon supporter forum so there is some common ground. I am reminded of the comment of another poster who was advocating different fonts for different moods ie a serious font, a flippant font, an irony font etc perhaps some conversations would include a mix of fonts to display the intention of the poster

Yes so why won't the minister show the evidence of that and why are we turning them back? The fact we are out there turning them back tells me that there are still boats. We don't know if there are any drowning as we don't know, gosh the navy says they don't even know where they are themselves so may not know that people have drowned.

Having the acknowledgement of Hannibal I appreciate that I may be better advised to reference dland for matters of MFC relevance only I appreciate the depth of some of the general discussion but would probably find more structured and objective analysis and reporting on these issues in mainstream or specialist media I expect the discussion of footy to be extreme, passionate and irrational but expect better in matters of real importance It does concern me that so many deluded by partisan ideologues impose ignorance on so many others I suppose that's the beauty of democracy

Some points of agreement. It does take time to improve knowledge. There have been many concrete points put before us. Theory is just that and is to be tested and proven or disproven not just ignored or contradicted. It is handy to have alternative opinion it assists progress and is a valued component of democracy. I am unsure of wether the hard line policy completely dissuades people trying to cross seas. If it is working, I would think the proponents would be able to show us, the fact they are turning people back would indicate the reverse. A softer alternative approach would stop the drownings, but of course does introduce other issues. Processing quicker would definitely help . There was a very high % even in the Howard years who were approved after processing. It has been shown from a psychological perspective the negative aspects of detaining children Thanks for your contribution it has opened up plenty of relevant and helpful information and will hopefully assist many like me who require information and not simplistic slogans in making an informed decision. We may demand more of our politicians and leaders

Fair dinkum You'd reckon they would know not to schedule these things to clash with the MFC AGM

Pert and Roos were both Roy Boys and might relish the chance of teaming up. It could be a reason for Roos to extend. They could both be persuaded it represents a chance to show the AFL that clubs can be revived and dont have to be relocated.

Away from the topic???Tony has now been quoted as saying the ABC "instinctively takes every-ones side but Australia's" WOW It may be interesting to see the local content percentages Tony mustn't see Landline, Oh I don't intend to go on. Even Turnbull points out "that if it wasn't for the ABC and Fairfax we might not know of the latest round of union corruption". Former ABC managing director David Hill says "Its an absurd proposition, laughable if it wasn't so dangerous" It will be interesting to see how the other media players report these comments.

unassuming report i reckon "cut of his jib" where did that come from? Great read. Thanks a lot. -
the good news is that the pain is so extreme that when you pass or destroy the stone you feel reborn. Women tell me that the pain of Kidney stones is only matched by giving birth so there is a link.

Thats an interesting comment as I cant recall him being tackled in play all that much it was only when he received a ball had no target to give it to stopped, bounced, looked around, feigned a hand pass, put it near his boot, gets tackled . It was all too late and not always caused by his poor disposal it was that he was unable to dispose and then got tackled. This accords with a lot of criticism of him that he doesnt crash and bash through packs either. always saw him on his own making position usually well away from a tackler. Maybe we should pair him up with MacDonald and see if he is still elusive or if Macca can make him realise he does needs to be able to withstand the tackle while disposing. -
Just enjoying those photos so much. Great clarity and its great to see shots of the boys with real muscle definition. And tackling techniques seem to be good. also like the shots where players are obviously communicating with each other about who will watch players not just all in gang tackling leaving players unattended. These seem to be improvements from previous years training pictures. is that a realistic interpretation??

If we could only leverage of the delusion market and promote the dream time (a unique Australian story) as the oldest and truest religion, construct similar financial structures as existing religions and develop international outreach and education centres we could solve many issues. -

regretting you are not so up close and in deep with the lingerie ladies WJ? -
Surely as an intelligent and skilled country we should be able to quickly appraise the merits of asylum seekers, accepting genuine cases and rejecting any who are economic migrants or do not fullfil the requirements of being persecuted. We should be able to this more efficiently and effectively if they are in our community rather than placed in isolated inhospitable and difficult to access locations. I would place greater confidence in our local communities in assesing wether a newcomer has valid compassionate reasons and can contribute skills and abilities to their communities than I do the awkward processes of bureaucracy administered externally. Alternatively increase our involvement at UN level to both process and improve conditions at the source. As CF states above this does require dialogue and a greater consideration of the outcomes.

Hope you are right about the boats. As the minister is not reporting, the navy doesnt know where it is and there is a monsoon season out there we have no idea if there are any deaths at sea. I am not left but I dont really want to see people locked up in detention centres just humane and efficient processing of refugees and migrants.

Yeah I don't want to demean him as he is well aware of snakes but hadn't seen them there. But I guess the point of it is you cant afford to get too blase. He'd been out at that pump so many times and just didn't think about precautions at that time of night and in the irritation of not having any water. It's just like the worksafe ads you need to be alert at all times especially in the country. They say up here its good to have a black as they are generally more timid than Tigers who tend to be a bit aggressive and a black being a bit more territorial will keep the tigers and browns away Is beginning to sound like footy thread with all this talk of tigers, browns and blacks. Do we have any snakes in the dees list???

Make sure your friend doesnt go inside and get into your shoes and shorts first. A neighbour of mine picked up his overalls that had been lying unused since the last fire and found a similar relative ready to help. Did so by raising his adrenalin to operating level. Another neighbour (we are talking 10K farm property)was bitten by a black at 4.00 in the morning when he went out in thongs to fix a recalcitrant water pump. nearly killed him He was an experienced farmer and had never seen snakes out at night. We all make sure we tread carefully now.

I think I'm beginning to understand this . Say it often enough and it will become fact. I just hope you are right C&B although it defies logic. You can make statistics provide any outcome if you manipulate them so I will be interested in the actual figures you use.LG and Stuie are correct The statistics of a game of football are fixed only at the END of the game. NOT EVERY GAME GOES TO AVERAGE. THAT IS WHY IT'S CALLED AN AVERAGE AND NOT A COMPLETELY RELIABLE OUTCOME FOR EVERY SINGLE GAME. But good luck I hope every time you state your theory you will find a response. I will be happy to concede when your theory is proven and we win.

I understand what you are saying but while the "bickering" can sometimes be distracting I find it sometimes enlightening and it reminds me that we all have different perspectives. The bickering tells you more about the poster and gives you a greater insight into their commentaries. Some of the "bickerers" provide the most insightful and clever wit and comments, and I am sure this is because they know each other more closely than some of us outsiders. Perhaps this same attribute resides in the mods. I do find it annoying when the bickering leads to personal insult and disrespectful comment when we are after all all demons supporters. sometimes you just have to shake your head and let it go. This is usually quicker and less painful than concentrating on it. There is so much gold amongst the dross. -
