  1. Probably over at the hottest bikini site waiting for the frogs contribution
  2. Well yes I tend to agree with you as well but must say dads experience was limited . I quite liked the original Tooheys Red as it was a great thirst quencher but it could not be taken in large quantities. XXXX yes agree with your comments (including salute to Biff. Irony is Dads recently moved to Qland and even made comment that he thinks hes getting used to the XXXX Had the Snow beer and others in a visit to China and I couldnt find anything worth drinking there. Even the Carlton franchise was worse than XXXX. The others you mention havent tried and wont. Thanks for the heads up
  3. Hey Jazza How long has it been. My thought is that you need to keep off em but I was always a light smoker and gave up pretty easily after a horrendous night with hangover and small plane trip with much vomiting . couldnt look at alcohol or ciggies for a bout a week and the first ciggie made me recall the horror. After many months went to footy with a mate (lives down your way at Yambuck) who smokes Old Holborn rollies and the aromatic smell is enough to attract me. But can still only have one and the taste is enough to put me off for another season. The ciggies do affect your tastes and good food and wine need to be appreciated without the tobacco dominating. In short I hope you can remain off the ciggs and keep yourself distracted with thoughts of a glorious season for the dees.
  4. You blokes are all making good comments My old man who went on to brew the Coopers home brew said there was no such thing as a bad beer Of course here in Beechworth we are blessed not only with a great selection of wines but also the Beechworth Breweries who make a complete range of beers including specialty beers during different seasons or if different local product is available. There tasting pack is fantastic and if you cant get here to try it you can get it from most of those boutique pubs. We also have the Beechworth honey Mead and my favourite honey and ginger. Oh and of course we are surrounded by orchards and have some great Ciders coming out of the area. All varieties from sweet to dry, and different alcohol content for all tastes. And we have cordials as well for rehydration or energy supplement. There are some trying to stop them carting our water away because we know the value of fluids up here.
  5. I didnt and dont label Watts as a player with limited attributes as a negative but was merely responding to some of the comments made. I was trying to emphasize that we need to use the attributes that he does have. I dont know how much Watts "wants it" or indeed any other player. I have seen him working hard to get into position so I think he does want it. The fact that he committed to Melbourne would seem to indicate that he wants something. I hope it is success and I hope he gets it
  6. Yeah all the best bj There are worse things that can divert you than the insanity on this site so try and keep contributing. I am sure that there is much support within the dlanders who can even offer wise counsel at times. Try and retain most of your usual routines and the reassurance and confidence that sustains you will be there. The Dees will not only distract you but provide proof that there is something else beginning. Lets hope it quick and positive.
  7. He really doesn't have to contest as he makes space and as has been stated in many other threads he does repeated leads which are too often ignored. As you say when he gets it he almost always delivers to someone in a better position and often receives it only to have no one in that better position. While it is easy to blame Watts if he is used correctly he will be our elite player who will help win us the flag. Every premiership winning team has someone with limited attributes who performs on the big occasion. We havent had enough of them to be certain but he outperforms many.
  8. I dont think he shirked the issue , He took a bump when off balance and went down in a tangled heap.Did appear to shape to throw more when both players realised the stupidity of any such contact. There is a need to play hard when required. I think that teammates are that, this is not just an individual game, Support must be given. it should always be within the rules and certainly size and strength should be applied to advantage which will sometimes include intimidation by presence. It seems Roos knows how and when to use aggression and is teaching our team well.
  9. Tasted a sparkling Gammay from Ross Gehrig Ross has been making excellent wines for many years and is one of our squash club members. We are fortunate to finish the night off often with a few samples from the region.
  10. thanks for Pics 6 Again really great shots. I also noticed the players seemed to have a mixture of Nike and asics shoe Given our foot injury record is this a preventative move especially as our shorts sponsor appears to be New Balance. Yeah Ok I am in the footwear game so obviously obsessed but nonetheless interested as i appreciate the value of matching foot and shoe at every level of activity.
  11. I really like the look of the muscle development on Stretch For a new draftee and young kid he looks like he has already put in some worthwhile preparation. Fantastic work from all posters thanks very much for the comments and the pics.
  12. buggery is allowed but Titpullers is censored ( sigh)
  13. Not just the terms Jazza but the actual definition of buggery which most people dont know. Anyway sounds like you are recovering and will soon be back to normal duties. As others have said hope you stay off the durries its better for you in the end (pun intended) With the signing of the free trade agreement with China Tony, Joe and Barnaby et al are saying you [censored] pullers are in for glory days. How they figure we will make money off the nation that controls its markets is beyond me. Enjoy the TV it probably came from China and only cost us 50 litres of milk.
  14. "Buggery" and "Tail shafts" Hmmmmmm interesting tautology?
  15. Whoops just read the entrails of the thread and realised I have experienced some space time continuum problem. Sorry to interrupt with a now long gone diatribe. You were right about the swallow or spit reference which needs to be applied as code for more activities. Does one swallow and consume the full offering of the thread or just spit it out choosing to move on in the hope of finding something better. You were also correct that there is some pretentious element to the practice of tasting. You have to indulge in it when you are legless. I did indicate that while I tasted a few of the offerings it became cloudy and difficult to recall when I gave up tasting and started drinking.
  16. Pennyweight make consistent product plenty of fruit and full mouth.Probably all beechworth wines are a bit thin and drink now rather than the big cellar for later reds of Rutherglen or the later released McLaren Vales which we enjoyed when we went to the Port Adelaide match. Re Rutherglen would be interested in your report on Vintara/King Jack. Newly acquired by the Chinese I did not enjoy the wine tasted but the very cheap bottle I took away tasted well. May have been a tasting room problem. Theres many fine wines from Rutherglen so wont recommend any let your palete be the judge. I was impressed with the All Saints release and I dont normally say that.
  17. just recovered from the Beechworth region spring tasting 26 wineries around Beechworth cooperating for a combined tasting Outstanding presentation including standouts A Rodda CHardonnay, Fighting Gully Chardonnay, Sorrenberg Gamay, Cow paddock Sangiovese blend, Amulet Cabernet blend, Giacconda of course and got a bit hazy as we moved through the Shiraz field So much wine so little time. What a great region we are in A great afternoon for $25. Most of these wines retail at premium prices as while they all excited the palete and were all distinctivly different I dont think there was a poor wine amongst them
  18. I agree I wonder what the problem was He seemed to acquit himself well in the games he played and also seemed capable at casey in a few matches I saw. It is interesting to see the sacrifices he made and you would think that would make you more desperate to makeit and perhaps that was his problem. You sometimes can try too hard. But he did have an experience and can sy more than a lot of us in that he got 7 games at elite level.
  19. Sorry That was the scenario I was really painting where Hogan Dawes have cleared the forward line taking their opponents with them and Howe has space to run into the long bomb for the big mark or the isolated get . He did seem to have a bit of pace and flexibility and may have learnt a few of the defenders tricks in his time on the back line that was constantly under seige. Plus he's a year older maybe a bit heavier? able to use his bulk a bit better. I have said before he reminds me of Lynch who was a lightweight flyer went into defence at Fitzroy bulked up and became a pretty handy forward at Brisbane.
  20. I thought it was banned as it was not prescriptively listed as approved ? Or something like that. But surely now that there is a 360 page report the situation will be clear and players must know where they stand. The fillibustering of Little and Hird can be seen to be a bit of delay to get the list in order until the ego took over A bit like Armstrong until the penny dropped that times have changed. Still cant help but feel sorry for players that let themselves be injected so regularly and didnt seek a second opinion A lot of blind faith that goes some way to their performance also.
  21. Howe deep forward for the speccy off the long Bomb. Hogan con go for the exploratory lead and attract the best defender Dawes wont be doubled team every time so able to take a few marks. With crumbers and mid field runners with there should be plenty of opportunity to develop a good scoring lineup. With Watts able to deliver off HFF there can even be some accurate direction to the best option. The beauty of this as well is the the Mid fielders dont have to always run so deep and can have better output with less physical demand. also better placed for defensive effort or rebound.
  22. I think you're on to something here GTB contracts on base level for all including Jones with performance bonus based on this years requirement to get him to resign for 3 yearsand past performance.to balance of salary cap. This allows us to recognise his considerable value to the club but signals other players that they must perform to get a larger salary than base. If they do perform and we make progress next contract with Jones we may agree that we cant afford him or he may agree that he has been well rewarded financially and will be better rewarded with a flag.
  23. Ta da! Is certainly most important. HopeRoos has it from the start of training
  24. I didn't and don't have too much concern with drafting. It's a bit of a lottery obviously and outcomes are dependent upon development and opportunity. I am pleased with whoever puts on a Melbourne jumper as they are ours. But it would be an excellent opportunity to allow our dland selectors nominate and keep this as a historical thread for future reference That is no comment no alternative opinion just everyone who wants to participate to select their choices once this retained and used as reference if necessary in future discussion Can such a closed thread be created by the magicians who provide this site?
  25. Thanks DrG I haven't kept up to date with work cover changes but it certainly was the case in the past and certainly not sure of what comp laws (if any) footy players are bound by. I am happy to accept your points as it helps simplify the difficult issues that need to be considered to get the best outcome for the club and player
