...a bit like Buddy.
-
Sorry 'puntkick', but I wouldn't mention Sam in the same breath as Graham Kennedy.

Jones has come in the last few weeks and is playing good footy for them down back...His real issue is no tank, I expect us to move around a bit down forward and exhaust him into submission..

...and it needs to be cleaned up. I'm sure it's better now than back in my day but it's still not great. This was a poor advertisement for football 'Chazz', no matter how much spin you want to put on it. This has nothing to do with Bugg and I don't know why you insist on linking the 2. Bugg is a whole different story. An employee of the AFL, in an AFL sanctioned event...not a great look. The sooner we see the back of this stuff the better. I might agree with you if he was playing Baseball or another sport but he was playing football. He works with the senior body that oversees the sport, local games are sanctioned and come under the umbrella of the AFL. He not just another private citizen 'Ralph'...

Cleary is taking a punt...

As we know, Dill doesn't like hard questions... The first thing he will do is hope that the police or the local tribunal make a move that takes it out of his hands. The next thing is see which way the wind is blowing...not so well at the moment. ...and then if possible. This AFL have consistently shown no courage to lead on real social issues... Dills courageous leadership begins and ends with refusing to go to the Carbine Club lunch...big deal.

If this post is correct I doubt Spencer will be getting a call up. ...and nor would he add any value.
-
Kent will probably get some interest from WA, Kennedy would be very lucky to get some interest from SA (most likely SANFL) and if we don't sign Spencer for another year as backup then his AFL career will be over. They've all got something to play for.

Must admit I thought that one a little bit strange when I read it... It's Chappy here, Jeffies down so get off the P155 Deano, you're in next week.

Those expecting Watts to play, I wouldn't hold much hope. Having had chronic hamstring problems back in the day, I could almost pick Watts had done his as soon as I watched him limping around. My own hammy had a bit of a twinge in sympathy. If he's had a setback at training this last week then he's at least another 3 weeks off. It's those slight ones that get you, they can be really tricky to deal with and easy to come back too soon...

Yep, rabbit in the spotlight at AFL level.

A note on White, reminded me of another elite kick, half back we had at the club who struggled with confidence at AFL level... Not so much on game style but both with so called elite kicks, both with no confidence to kick apart from little chip kicks that miss targets. Anyone know who I'm talking about???

Who is your pick to step up over the next month?
rjay replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
The one who really needs to step up is Jordan Lewis... I think he's been ok but the questions for me are. 1. Is he past it? Father time waits for no one... and there is no doubt Jordan has played his best football but can he rise to the occasion for another tilt. 2. For all the good words, is he still a Hawthorn player at heart...I'm not having a go at him here, he's been a good get but in the end it must be hard for a 4 time premiership player at another club to really step up. How invested is he really deep down in his sub conscious. Why do I think he's the one to step up and why have I made the points above. Well when the Hawks were missing the big guns...Hodge and Mitchell then had Rougy go down, it was Lewis who stepped up and big time. He almost single handedly pulled them over the line. Some of the best individual games I've seen were from Lewis when the chips were down. Can he do the same for us...points one and/or two above if correct say no. Lets hope he can pull the finger out and have a good go at it. It's time for Lewis to step up...- 66 replies

That's what happens when you play 4 games in 18 days. It takes it's toll and it did. This was the result I expected tonight but convinced myself it wasn't going to happen...
-
I would be shocked if they did... We're making them look good tonight.
-
That's going to be pretty hard because Goodwin usually starts him on the bench... Having said that it wouldn't surprise me to see Goodwin start him tonight, Oliver plays better with some heat on him.
-
...and for the Todd Rundgren fans.

I think Hunt will spend a bit of time deep forward 'daisy', the Swans have been shown to be susceptible to fast moving forwards and he's played there before. Goody won't just sit him there all game though. Unlike the Tiges & EFC coaches (teams were predictable) ...he will rotate players around a lot so they (Swans) don't get too comfortable.
-
I would be looking for another Hibberd type trade to bring in something we need. We also need to bring in a couple of good kids in the next 2 drafts to keep the talent pool and age profile well balanced.
-
EFC & the Tiges both caught out the Swans defence for pace... I like your thinking here...whether White or another, Hunt forward is a good option.
-
Like for like would see Wagner in for Salem and more likely Kent for Garlett... JKH is not a small forward and whilst I'm not a Kent fan his pace around the forward half would be an advantage if he's switched on. For JKH to come in he needs a midfield rotation, maybe another option is to use Billy more as a forward and Jay in the mid mix.

Funny time to bring this up 'JV'...

Pretty keen on that carpet 'Akum'...

...becoming a bit of an urban myth around here. Not true, Wojcinski got 2 weeks but missed 4 with byes included.
