    Is he any better? Not entirely sure what the upside is in taking him. Some great players have been picked up in the third round. He's not going to one of them if he can't crack it for regular Freo games.

    Spot on. And I've noticed that the 7 commentary team has tried to slot in back stories about GWS players. Tonight for instance it was along the lines of 'yes, they were given massive draft concessions but Matt De Boar is in the team and he was originally pick 19. It's such a tale of perseverance against the odds'. The whole saga makes me puke. And Cameron Ling is beginning to make Dwayne Russell look impartial. I just assume he rubbed Stevie J's buttocks during the half time break.

    Jack Watts Beelzebub. Quite a low profile around these parts so you may not have heard much about him. Apparently there's some criticism of him in Demonland's Dark Web.

    Inclined to agree BN. Don't think he has enough nous to play too far forward so that leaves wing/high hf. The concern I have around Salem is more gut feel than anything.. which I know doesn't always equate with weight of possessions. He doesn't seem to have a real presence on the field when it's needed and I don't think he's one of the blokes to get us to where we want to be. Could be wrong.

    I have a problem with admin, coaches who use the terms 'they, them' when the team is losing as a way of dissociating themselves from responsibility but latch on to 'we' when the team is successful. Koch's speech is littered with they/them. Media savvy or not, it's certainly a different take on loyalty for mine.

    To be fair, the deliberate out of bounds free against West Coke was laughable. Port had their chances and blew it.

    A highlight for me was Joel Selwood ducking into a tackle and looking incredulous that he didn't get a free. It would've been a free at Deliverance Park, no question.
