  1. He had a pretty solid pre season too. Do think he's getting his head right.
  2. With Tapscott, the key will be whether he has a sufficient motor to play mid for spells. Certainly, would love to see him have a crack at playing forward
  3. Old Dee, you really do splash the bile about. I'm suggesting that you haven't seen him play because before being injured he was starting to show promise. He does need to bulk up but has a good footy brain if you watched the games last year and is a great set shot. Why do you insist on writing blokes off with 'I doubt he will be much use to the seniors this side of 2014' garbage. Your posts are ill informed at best and deliberately negative at worst.
  4. I hope we don't trade the picks for a Goddard, Black etc. Remember that this current crop, the Gysberts, Trengoves will have a further 12 months behind them and we will be better suited to introduce young picks. Let's not forget that these players have had a baptism of fire.
  5. Whispering Jack, Blease on a wing is a fair call imo and in a way, the only real option. Not sure I want him coming off half back and doesn't seem to have the presence of mind yet to work as a forward
  6. Spot on Dees 64. I thought his early press conference wasn't great (others disagree) but give him a go. Damien Barrett? He's a journalist. If you can't find disharmony create it.
  7. So you want Neeld to go rpfc? You don't like the team, the coach and Cameron Schwab. But you do like Dennis Commetti. Which players do you like going forward?
  8. Viney plus a real running mid and hope that Billy Stretch comes through in 2014
  9. Dr Who, the trouble with the snow is that they can't get the reception in which to tune into Dennis Commetti's words of yesteryear wisdom.
  10. Happy to dream on old dee and 'like a cork in the ocean' you'll keep bobbing up with 'centimetre perfect' replies
  11. When you say he's not, I guess you mean funny. I think his routine as a commentator is increasingly tired and contrived. I put him in the same category as the Coodabeens with Greg Champion flogging his 20th version of The Lion Sleeps Tonight with associated word changes. 1,'And the recruiting has been shocking.' - way too early to say as Geelong's development will support 2, Bland - when young teams get a pasting they do go into their shells but that's not bland, that's overawed and, again, is a process of development 3, Football has moved on from the 50's and 60's. As Garry Lyon said to Commetti, 'it's irrelevant' in relation to the now 4, We won more games in 2011 than 2010. We have had 2 rounds so far. I tell you what I do understand about the Dees of 2012; they will finish this season as men with a genuine appetite for the contest. So yeah, he's a bit of a [censored] imo
  12. Let's not stray too far from the point.......Commetti is a [censored] and increasingly unfunny.
  13. Absolutely spot on dees64. They play for each other but I would also add, they were given time to gel as a group.
  14. Biffen, you never actually played did you?
  15. Cheer up, at least it's great to see the smugs at Hawthorn get done.
  16. I do agree re Blease. He appears to be a fringe player at best right now. I did find it strange that he spent 3 quarters against Brisbane doing very little until subbed for Bate who did well
  17. Lucifer, I agree that he's gone backward but I also think that the boy can play. He's played predominantly off half back but I would love him to play higher up the ground. As I said, his strength is/was that he's a runner.
  18. Monoccular, are you serious when you demand that Moloney must earn his spot. It's one thing being critical, but you surely need to keep things in perspective. He should be a walk up start if fit. Go back to Casey........surely you're kidding.
  19. He gets an almighty bagging but Morton needs games in him. If the club is fair dinkum re structures and long term success he simply must play. Yes, he's had some shocking games but so have they all. He is just the type of player to be perservering with. If you look at a number of Geelong's backs, they too needed to learn their craft......and they did. For starters, he provides run and spread.
  20. At the risk of sounding delusional, (given Billy Stretch looks about 8yrs old in the 2010 articles I've seen), we do have a couple of promising father and son mids coming through in Viney this year and Billy Stretch in 2014. The wraps on Billy Stretch out of Adelaide are extremely encouraging ie Chris Judd comparisons. When you think that a number of our young players will have 50 - 90 games under their belts by then, this makes current developments a little easier to take. Stating the obvious, a couple of damaging mids would solve a lot of issues.
  21. Does anybody know as to whether Lucas Cook is injured? He's one that I'm wanting to see into the firsts but has had a number of setbacks.
  22. Given it might be in the afterlife ie 2064 I need to give it some extra thought.
  23. Demetriou picks and chooses who he defends and who he throws to the wolves and he appears to do it under the guise of political correctness when it suits. Does anybody believe he wasn't up to his eyeballs in the Rendell saga? How can you sack Misfud when you're probably the encourager?
  24. Does anybody have David Williamson's number? Surely there's room for The Club 2 When you buy a Dees membership you really do get the full package.
  25. Deemad, I just thought he was overly angry at the conference as opposed to breaking down why we lost other than we were pulverised in the centre.
