  1. I have to agree with c&b. He's not saying it was great but it was certainly better than the first couple of weeks.
  2. Is it worth going with Gawn next week with, say, a Jack Fitzpatrick resting.
  3. People can point to Trengoves tackling but geeez, he's a plum average player ATM. No speed, poor disposal and lack of awareness.
  4. Things noticed: Blease has very little aerobic capacity whatsoever, Sylvia is still far and away our most talented footballer, Gawn needs to learn how to position himself in marking contests if he's to be of real value and ( I'm ready for protests) Watts was nowhere near horrible today. And the umpires, whilst not deciding the match, were shite for us today. As per usual, Brisbane got the rub of the Greek. Terlich decision was laughable and a number of their handballs in our forward 50 weren't handballs at all.
  5. Trengove is not in our best 22 for mine.
  6. My god Trengrove is slow
  7. This is one of those interstate games that I can barely watch as I get expectations up.
  8. Great news that Rory Taggert is developing nicely. Has all the polish required for the seniors IMO once the fitness levels are up.
  9. We did not pick Wines. We picked Jimmy. Now, we can spend the next 12 months focusing on every Wines possession, like a mantra for morons, or we can get behind the kid that we picked. Personally, I think Jimmy will develop into a star of the competition. One thing for sure is that I'm not writing him off week 5.
  10. The way he's playing, it's a shocking decision by GWS. Still, the AFL will find a loophole to ensure their own club's success.
  11. He can take his first step by blanketing Jonathan Brown.
  12. Lot of time for Chip but I cannot get my head around his from of the last 12 - 16 months. He was a great backman; the cornerstone of our defence. I cannot fathom how someone can decline to such an extent. I used to like the ball in his hand and now it's about the last thing I want to see. He can and will turn it around. I'm backing him in.
  13. I love those blokes that give 110% in the correction of grammar or intent. The Dreamteam must haves of the online world.
  14. Tappy strikes me as a player that would benefit from supporter adulation rather than go into his shell. On that basis alone we need to give him every chance to shine.
  15. It's hard to tell whether or not he's succeeding in terms of a longer term plan. Lets hope so and give him a chance to do so. Having said that, he has never come across terrifically in terms of the capacity to drag players with him.....but there is no way of knowing as a supporter.
  16. On the topic of drug revelations why doesn't the Young Lib impersonator, Damien Barrett just admit that the stuff he brings to us is pretty much what we watched on the 7.30 report. It's like a school kid handing in an assignment with the original name scraped off and replaced by his own.
  17. Right now you'd have to say yes.
  18. Loving his progress, but I'm also hoping they don't get carried away and play him in every Casey game. I assume there's a plan.
  19. I'm also not suggesting sacking Neeld at this stage but, all things considered, The Reverend would have this team better organized and motivated than what we have seen over the last year and a bit. There can be no doubt about that surely.
  20. T-34, I take your point but I was commenting on the inference that Daniher was not a successful/ good coach. What I can clearly say is that there were teams during that period with considerable and greater talent that did not have the finals appearances and relative success that we had.
  21. I thought Blease was in the mix for that role along with Jetta.
  22. I'd take the Daniher period in a heartbeat. A great communicator. If you want to list faults, everybody's got one but bloody hell, we were ultra competitive for a long period of time and more often than not it was great to go to the footy.
  23. You do know that Taggert is coming through after several back stress injuries? Both are viewing monitored and my feeling has always been that the club rated them highly. Taggert lifted his rate recently at Casey and is a very good disposer of the football. Would love to see his poise coming out of the back line - rather than the fear factor stuff we currently do against better sides when kicking out.
  24. If he did clash with one of the assistants ie Rawlings I think it's a positive. Out of vigorous discussion comes progress.
  25. I mentioned earlier, not sure if its the same thread, that he did work experience here a few months ago. Very keen to be a part of a Melbourne. Played a bit of footy with Strawb O'Dwyers boy.
